"Just put an arrow in, pull back and let go, real simple." You followed her... loose instructions exactly yet the arrow failed to fly more than a few feet, whilst Artemis's arrow flew straight through the undergrowth the undergrowth and nailed whatever she had or had not laid her eyes on.

"It is not that simple Artemis, if it was, I would not need you." Artemis slung her ancient bow over her shoulder and gracefully walked over the piles of tree roots and dense shrubbery, leaving you where you stood.

"You know Y/N... if you do not want me to help you, I don't have to. Who stands at the head of Crete has very little meaning to me. Now, do you want my help?" She turned back to you and ran her hands along the cracked bark of a near standing tree.

"Yes, I want your help, it is just your... information does not seem to be doing me much good."

"Well, you just don't seem to be following them. Repeat to me what I told you to do."

"You told me to just load an arrow, pull back on the string and let go, but there has to be more to it than that." She gestured for you to try again and pointed at a birch tree that stood out from the rest of the forest, yet once again, the arrow failed to hit it's target by a large margin.

"Stop thinking." She spoke abruptly and with purpose. "You think too much about what you are doing, do no more than what I said and nature... well... something will do the rest of the work." She gestured as she had done before.

"Empty your mind, forget that your father's Empire will rest solely in your hands."

"Not helping!"

"Sorry! Forget everything that you know about everything and just load an arrow, pull the string back and let go." You emptied your mind the best that you could, letting every troubling thought just wash away and at that, everything became clearer. The single pale tree almost began to glow, the birds stopped their chorus of song and time seemed to stop. With the arrow notched in your bow, you pulled back the coarse string and once it was as tight as you could possibly make it the arrow flew from the bow.

It whistled as it soared through the crisp, spring air before deeply embedding itself in the centre of the tree, some of the leaves danced towards the soil. A slow clap echoed through the forest from behind you.

"See, I told you, but you stupid humans never listen."
