As I walked into the cafeteria my mind wondered to what Cassie said to me a few days ago. I wouldn't fall for Austin, no way. I love Lachlan and there is no way in hell I would leave him, he is my world and I can't think of life without him. Plus Austin is a dick, he is the rudest person I have ever met. My thoughts were interrupted when someone called my name.
"Oi, Skyler!" The voice called, instantly recognising it to be Alex.
"Hey Alex!" I answered back.
"What time does Austin come over today?" He asked placing his try on the table I was sitting at.
It had now been two weeks since the first time Austin came over. We had not became anything close to 'friends' or anything other than tutor and student. I mean it's not like I wanted to become anything more than that, because now way in hell would I. I just think I would be better if every Friday he came over to tutor me we didn't talk about anything other than maths. Just maths.
I'm not asking him to become my friend again because I could not handle his rudeness but I just wanted him to act normal and not be so grumpy with me all the time, and maybe just maybe continue a conversation with me instead of answering with a few words or just talking about homework. It really got on my nerves.
"Umm…around 3:30 after school, why?"
"And what time will he leave?" Alex questioned, avoiding my question.
"I don't know, maybe 7. Why?" I asked again, hoping to get an answer this time.
"I need to-" he began talking normally before speeding up the end of his sentence, "I need to use your Xbox."
"Pardon?" I asked him. He spoke too fast I couldn't understand what he asked.
"I need to use your Xbox." he spoke quickly again.
"Alex! get your own! Your always coming over to use my Xbox, you know I exist too!" I let out a small giggle, kind of annoyed that Alex only came to visit me for my Xbox, and never just to hang out with one of his best friends. Me.
"Skyler, I don't have enough money to get one." Alex complained. "I was going to suggest that Lachlan could come too so I could bond with him, you know so I can hang with one of my best friends boyfriend and get to know him. But if you still don’t want me too that fine too…"
"Argh fine. I'll have Austin leave by 4:00." I gave in, thinking that this might be good. At least then Lachlan can talk to one of my friends because the rest of my best friends hated him. They always said that he wasn't good for me.
"Leave where?" A deep voice spoke behind of me, causing me to jump. Just as I was about to turn around and see who spoke, but a presence came beside me. As I looked up at the figure I saw it to be Austin standing with his tray in his hands slowly placing it at the table Alex and I were sitting at and sitting down casually, like this was a normal thing.
He wore a black Adidas jumper, a black pair of jeans, matching black high-tops and a black snapback that had 'KINGS' written on it. I noticed his face was still his normal grumpy, smartass expression.
"Leave my house early. I have plans." I answered letting out an annoyed groan.
"What plans?" Austin asked leaning closer to me so I could feel his breath on my cheek.
"Just some plans, does it really concern you?" I answered, not realising how mean it was until he spoke back.
"Well I'm sorry that you need my help with maths." Austin mumbled. Alex was staring at Austin with this face which was like a 'What the fuck do you think you are doing sitting with us' face.
"Stop staring like that at me, it's annoying. Oh and while you're at it stop talking." Austin snapped at Alex causing his eyes to widen, offended by his words. They were really good friends before and now Austin is treating him like shit.
"W-why are you sitting h-here?" Alex asked nervously looking down at his food, he must of felt like Austin was going to bash him or something.
"Why does it matter. God Sky, is he always this annoying? I don't remember him being like this when I was best friends with him."
"It's Skyler!" I corrected him.
"Why did you change? You were so nice before and look at you now." Alex told Austin.
"Alex I told you to stop talking, so stop." Austin snapped again, getting angry at Alex's questions.
"I was just asking." Alex said looking down at his food once again.
"Is anyone sitting here?" A new voice spoke. As soon as I heard them speak I instantly knew it was Lachlan. Looking up to him I smiled and nodded no.
"Hey baby." He spoke leaning down to me and kissing my lips before sitting down next to me. Causing Austin to scoff and mumble something inaudible.
"Sky am I still coming over tonight?" Lachlan questioned.
"She doesn't like being called Sky." Austin finally spoke again causing everyone's eyes to stare at him.
"What?" Lachlan asked.
"She doesn't like being called Sky, she likes Skyler." He repeated.
"Then why do you call her that?" Alex asked Austin.
"Don't worry Alex he doesn't." I said glaring at Austin. "and Lachlan you can call me whatever I love you babe."
"You're so stupid." Austin said rolling his eyes and sighing before getting up and leaving. Leaving behind his food and rubbish.
