ALL OF OUR ANGLES: CHAPTER SEVEN
/"NANA'S NEW BABY"
On an early Saturday morning, the sun hid quietly behind the soft clouds as the wind blew subtle circles around the rides at Six Flags. Regine, Shyrod, Meechie, Tijuan, and Achael were all standing in line talking amongst themselves while waiting to get on Mr. Freeze.
"I don't really wanna ride." Achael whined, crossing her arms over her chest.
"You just a lonely bitch that's all." Shyrod said, as he had his arm over Tijuan's neck whom was leaning back on his chest.
"Whatever. Regine knows I hate riding rides by myself," She responded. "But she's taken."
Regine gave Achael a confused look but just decided to keep her mouth closed for the moment.
"You want ha to ride wit you asumn?" Meechie asked, not feeling the vibe he was getting from Chae. "I'm cool to be by myself."
"Baby,-"
"Yes! I want her to ride with me, you will won't you, Gina?"
Rolling her eyes, Regine let go of Meechie's hand and shrugged, turning her back to the whole group. "Yeah, I guess."
Shyrod shook his head with a sigh as he suddenly felt the want to go home. It was no doubt that he didn't like Achael but recently she was really starting to work his nerves, especially with all these petty shenanigans she was starting to pull when it came to Regine and Meechie. Shyrod liked them together and wanted his best friend to finally be happy with someone and it seemed like Achael was hellbent on pulling Regine as far away from him as she could.
After they'd all gotten on Mr. Freeze, the group headed over to stop and eat. They'd been at the park for about three hours and it was almost 1:30, and Regine was getting hangry. Her attitude was becoming a bit much for Meechie, and he could tell she was irritated he just didn't know why.
"What's up wit you, mamas?" He asked her, as they stood in line for turkey legs.
"Nothing."
Meechie chuckled. "Cute you think you can lie to me like dat, I know when sum wrong wit my baby, so what's wrong? I know it ain't just cause you hungry."
"Nothing," She repeated, looking up at him. She gave a small smile and moved closer to him, wrapping both of her arms around him and leaning her arm on his side as he threw his left arm over her shoulders. "I'm just... I don't know. Chae's actin' funny and I ain't up for it."
"Yeah, I been seeing dat."
"Ion wanna turn up on ha cause she my girl but I'm annoyed with her. Next shot she throw at you imma have to slap her ass."
"She got an issue she better speak up." He laughed, "I can handle my own."
"She's my friend though," Regine said, looking up again. "It's my job to say something to her first. I'm sorry if she making you feel uncomfortable."
"Ion give a hell about dat girl, as long as you happy wit me fuck what anybody else feel."
"Wh--"
"Next!" The person at the stand called out, making the two push forward and order. Meechie bought two turkey legs, two drinks, an order of fries and a family size nacho for everyone to share. Once they had everything, they made their way back to the bench everyone was sitting at. Meechie sat in between Chae and Regine while Shyrod and Tijuan sat across from them.
Can you switch seats with your... boy?
Regine's face frowned as she read the text from Chae.
