ALL OF OUR ANGLES: CHAPTER EIGHT

/ "EQUALS"

With it already being the middle of may, everyone was getting ready for finals, which basically meant the most conversation you were gonna get out of anybody, was a daily text reassuring that they were safe and still breathing, other than that, all those heads were heavy in the book. Even with the easy classes, flashcards, and mini at-home tests were being made and used to ensure that no student made anything below an 85.

Walking around with a study guide she made herself in hand, Regine paced around her kitchen reciting questions and answering them to make sure she obtained every concept she needed to get an A on her creative writing final.

"The organization of visual elements and principles of design," Regine said aloud, making a face as she rattled her brain for the answer. "What the fuck...." She mumbled.

"Composition, Re, damn!" Shyrod yelled at her from the counter.

"How you kn--"

"You printed us both copies of your lil handmade study guide so we could help, remember?" Achael chirped in from the living room couch.

"Oh yeah," Regine chuckled. "Sorry, I'm jus so throwed off this!"

"It's okay girl, take a break for real," Achael told her, sitting up to face the kitchen.

Shyrod nodded, reaching over and taking the guide from Regine's hands. "I agree wit ha. You need to chill. You got this shit, now you just ova-working yoself."

Although Regine was listening to what the two of them were saying, she was smiling more so at the fact that her two best friends were finally getting through their differences and all three of them could be in the same space as each other without any shade or petty arguments. She wasn't sure what exactly had gotten into the two of them but she was happy that it did. Their unnecessary beef was really getting tiring.

"Okay," Regine surrendered, putting her hands up, "I'll break, but y'all gotta break too."

"Bitch I been breaking after the first ten minutes of studying. I came ova here to relax."

"HELLO," Achael said, nodding her head. "Fuck she thought this was. Talking 'bout some damn study group time, girl bye."

"Y'all are a mess, I need to be studying and so do the both of you."

"No, we really don't. We all been studying, well I know you have, for like two weeks already. You know everything you need to, Gina. You always going so hard, you got it. Take a break."

Sighing, Regine pouted as she dragged her feet to the couch and plopped down next to Achael, kicking her legs up to lean back on Chae.

"I just really wanna get some good ass grades man, I wanna achieve my goals."

"We know, pooh," Shyrod said, joining the girls in the living room and taking a seat on the plush white fur rug. Grabbing a pillow he set it down beside himself and leaned on it. "And you will, but don't ovawork yoself befo' you een get dere!"

"You sound like Meech," Regine chuckled. Achael made a face and Shyrod caught it but decided not to say anything.

"Where my boy at anyways? Ain't seen him in a minute actually, since the day after dat dinner."

Regine shrugged. "He's been working with his Uncle in his shop I guess, that's what he told me. But I been so in my books I ain't really been pressing it."

"Maybe you should," Chae mumbled, with a slight shrug.

"Why?"

"I mean, well, nevermind I don't know." She shook her head.
