Chapter 3- shut up

Lumine's POV

"So, Lumine, I have a few questions..." Elijah starts. I nod my head as I plop myself in a comfortable spot next to the bush. "So- sorry if this is an iffy question- but are you gay?" My eats fall down at the question, but I guess I have to answer it...

L: "uhh... I guess I am... why do you ask?"
E:"erm... just curious.."
E: *whisper* "yes, I actually have a chance!!"
L: "what was that you said?"
E: "nothing. Anyways, how have you been?"
L: "I've been doing well. You?"
E: "I've actually doing fantastic!"
L: "really? How so?" *his eyes light up*
E: "i might get laid in the near future because i have a chance with my crush"
L: "o-oh.. ok then?"
E: "ahaha, I should get going to my group soon. C'ya!"

Seconds later, he runs off to his skip buddies, and I feel like I've just shared a family weakness with a criminal. I try and keep my mind off of it by putting my earbuds in and listening to one of my favorite songs: Für Elise. I listen to it and pretend to play the piano in front of me while I wait for the lunch bell to ring.

Hell I didn't even notice the bell when it rang because I was asleep, and only realized when Kody had tapped me on the shoulder.

"It's time for lunch, lets go. Also, what do you even listen to that makes you fall asleep?" Kody says while taking one of my earbuds. He held it against his ears, since they were a certain model for weredogs and such. "Oh, Beethoven. Cool, I guess. Let's just get going to the cafeteria," he says while dragging me along. Literally.

Lunch ends as soon as it starts, and Kody's final classes are pe and study hall, meaning I didn't have to stay near the bush, and I could stay in Kody's bag, or keep him company.  It was nice either way.

It seemed that the day was spent in Kody's bag. I don't do it by choice though. Even if I stay enclosed in my tiny feral form for 2 and a half more hours, I still kept an eye on Kody.

During PE, Elijah approached with a smug look on his face. I couldn't hear what they were talking about, but it made Kody either flustered or angry, which made me curious. I scoot the bag I was in closer so that I could hear them. It seemed pretty useless, because when I got in hearing range of them, Kody just snapped, something he doesn't do. "Shut your fucking mouth, you dick! I'd say fuck you, but you'd get the wrong idea. I swear I'm going to-" he stopped shouting and looked at me with a grim look.

I slowly scooted forward, making them both edge back. It attracted a lot of attention, so I scoot faster towards them, but they backed away faster. I finally gave up and started chasing them around outside of the bag and around the gym. I caused fear, but in a sort of good way.

They eventually run into one of the bathrooms, which gave me an opportunity to corner them. I quickly turn back into my human form and look at them, still confused.

Kody's POV

Lumine cornered us in the bathroom, but he didn't look angry. He had the same soft, cute eyes he always has, so I don't know why we were scared. He suddenly looks over at Elijah with a dull glare. "What did you say to kody that made him angry" he asks Elijah in a serious tone. I immediately butt in, just to mention something to Lumine. "Lumine, you've been acting strange all week. You never talk in a serious tone, or growl. Hell, you usually listen to modern music, but now you listen to Beethoven's 5th symphony?" I definitely should have though out my timing, because I seemed to have triggered something in both Elijah and Lumine, because they both flinched and looked at the ground. "I'm sorry if it bothers you..." he mutters in a childish way, despite being 15. I sigh. "Let's just forget about it for now... I'll explain to you at home, Lumine," I say while petting Lumine's soft hair. We skipped the rest of that period, but I headed to study hall after the bell rang.

The entire conversation between me and Elijah stuck with me, though

K: Kody
E:Elijah

K: so what did you want to tell me? Why here, of all places?
E: I wanted to make a bet. We both have the hots for Lumine because he's hot. Why don't we make it a race to see who can kiss Lumine first without him backing out.
K: are you bat-shit crazy? How do you know Lumine won't feel pressured by all of this? Also, why do you only care about his looks? That's a dick move
E: you're one to talk. Remember when you were shit to him? Even though he treated you like you were the last person on earth.
K: that was because I found him on the streets. Now, why are you telling me this?
E: to get back at you. I already know I'm going to win this bet, since you're too stuck up to try.
K: Shut your fucking mouth, you dick! I'd say fuck you, but you'd get the wrong idea. I swear I'm going to-
E: *mutters* oh shit...

~*end flashback*~

Then came study hall... it's always either calming or stressful. Or both. Today, it was both. Lumine was in his small feral form curled up in my lap while I was studying for finals. The matter seemed fairly easy, so I set the big ass book aside and walked to a bench outside, since the teachers let us study wherever we wanted.

Lumine was still fast asleep in my arms as I wandered outside. Probably just gonna head home at this point, since the bell's gonna ring in a few minutes.

As I walk to the bus with Lumine safely kept in my arms, I feel like I'm being followed. I slowly walk faster, being careful not to trip. Don't look back.. don't look back, Lumine wake the fucc up I don't wanna look back, I think to myself as I approach the bus stop. I start to hear footsteps behind me, which get louder with every step I take. Lumine's eyes suddenly pop open, and he jumps out of my arms and looks behind me. He tilts his head, and begins walking by my side, now in his human form. I take a deep sigh and look behind me, only to see a disappointed Elijah, still following close behind.

Even though Elijah doesn't live near me anymore, he still continued to follow me home, making small talk with Lumine. I tried urging Lumine to walk faster, but Elijah just adjusted his pace along with ours. I start walking ahead of them, just so I don't have to hear them anymore. "So Elijah... did you start living near us again?" Lumine asks loud enough for me to hear. "Nah- I'm only following to see if we could hang out today... alone" he said, idiotically loud. I felt like a father, being this overprotective. What are your intentions with my daughter? I laugh to myself, thinking of being a father one day.

Well, just like Elijah said, he was hanging out with us for today. We decided to play some video games, since that was something I was good at. During the entire time he was here, Elijah kept grabbing Lumine's thighs, or stroking his tail seductively. Oh the joy that was blessed upon my when Elijah's pissed mother called, demanding that he go home at once.

Me and Lumine we're finally free.

And it was fucking relieving
