Spring days

Chapter 6-

Ummm ok, so i still have a bit of pain in my wrist, but i i feel like you guys deserve a 1,000+ word chapter today, unlike the 800 or so words i coughed onto my laptop. (Yea I'm sick, but i feel better when i write- so. . . sue me)

Onward with the chapter!!

I wish he never asked the question he was about to ask.

"When is mating season for werewolves? I know for normal wolves its January through April- but I'm not sure about werewolves. I need it for a paper," he asks in a stoic manner. i stumble over trying to figure out whether to tell him the truth or lie to him and tell him it was in October or some shit. "Ermmm- w-well i-it's in. . . Octo-arch?" I manage to stutter. He tilts his head and gives me a confused face (y'all know that "or nah" face? Imagine that, but on kody). "Ok, so its in march or October. . . Right?" He says slowly. "Just l-look it up on google or something- just p-please don't ask me," i stutter while my face heats up about a million percent more than it should. I regret saying that because he whipped out his phone and asked fucking Siri. I quickly ran into my room and shut the door behind me, then hiding a plush under my bed and covering any edges of the bed with boxes from amazon prime shipments. Luckily, my small feral form is small enough to sneak past kody and to the store to kill time. I just needed to find out how i was going to leave, since the doors are loud as hell.

I finally figured out the only way to get out was through the window, which would've been the first plan of action- had i not been a dumbass. In just a few seconds, i was on my merry way to the store to get stuff i might need for the next two weeks. This included raw meat once everyday during stage 2, and just a bunch of chips. If I'm going to be enclosed in my room, better have chips and Netflix.

To better understand the stages of werewolf mating season, take this:

Stage 1: depressed or looking for a mate. If the werewolf already has someone they'd want to mate, they'll vomit first thing in the morning and avoid their target until stage 2 kicks in.

Stage 2: (this is where shit gets crazy) the werewolf will return to their primitive ways for a few hours per day. The werewolf will have no memory of whatever they did during those few hours, but the time period will get longer each day. This will go on until the werewolf has gone completely primitive and has no control of modern behavior

Stage 3: the final stage- Becky lemme smash

(Yea i made this up, but i made this up so you guys can understand what I'm talking about a bit more)

Back to the storyyyyyy

As i complete paying $28 for all the items, i get a text from kody. "Are you under the bed again?". "Perhaps," I reply. He doesn't answer, so I'm assuming he's looking around for me elsewhere. I quickly rush home and hide everything i bought in a bush outside my window. I put a box over the stuff so other animals don't get in that easily. After doing so, i hide under the bed behind all the boxes.

I soon hear him come into my room and topple the boxes over. "Hey-" i say before he cuts me off. "Were you with Elijah just now?" He says in a serious tone. Shit he found out i snuck out. "No. . . I was doing. . . werewolf. . .  things," i respond. He raises an eyebrow and begins to move closer to me.

"Kody- I'm going to ask you for one thing and you have to respond honestly," i whisper while moving closer to him. "Yeah, what?"
"Do you have a giant dog cage?" I say while moving closer by the minute. I'm not even controlling my movements anymore, dammit!! I think to myself as he looks at me in confusion.

I suddenly felt a high fever and slump down.

The only thing i could say was "stage 2, leave and lock the door behind you."

Of course, he didn't listen- and proceeded to move closer to my face.

I felt my senses fading, all but hearing and seeing. I'm now a bystander to watching a primitive me probably attack kody.

I hate spring days.

  Kody's POV

I moved closer to lumine's face, not knowing what i was even going to do next. If i kissed him, i think i would mess him up more than i did in the forest.

Then his eyes went wide, and he growled. It sounded like a growl of pain. He bared his teeth to me, and transformed into his large wolf form, still growling. He was in pain, and i didn't know how to help him.

Until he stopped growling entirely and licked my cheek. "Lumine? Are you ok?" I said, expecting a vocal response. Instead, i got a bunch of low grumbling and a soft whimper. He quickly jumped out of the window with no warning.

Luckily he didn't break the window, only bashed it open. Unluckily for everyone, he was on a hunting episode, it seemed. I hopped down the window and was swiftly caught by lumine's jaws. He gave me a salty look and went on with looking in a bunch of bushes. "Hey lumine- are you acting up because of the event in the forest? Listen, I'm sorry, i should've done that. Please just look at me normally!" I tried apologizing, but he just sniffed a bush and pulled out a box. He yawned and opened the box with his claws as if it was as fragile as a leaf. It kind of scared me.

Instead of carefully taking everything out carefully (like he usually does), he flings the contents onto the ground and starts eating it.

A few minutes pass of me watching lumine eat a raw steak. He completed it and looked satisfied.

He then collapsed, as if he had been shot in the face. Naturally, i panicked and tried to wake him up and checking his temperature. His forehead was boiling.

"Hmm. . . Why do i feel . . . Weird. . . " he mumbled as he turned back into his normal form. "Probably because you just jumped out a window just to eat a steak outside," i said as calmly as possible. He stood there with confusion and disbelief, then fear. "Oh, then i gotta leave. . . " he mutters while pointing behind him. I immediately grab his shoulder before he has a chance to leave and check if the fever got worse. He steps backs few feet and stares at me for a while. "Kody, you don't understand i have to leave before i hurt you," he says in a concerning voice. "Oh hell no, you don't. You're staying here and you are going to explain to me how a marshmallow like you would hurt me," i scold while grabbing his wrist to keep him from running off. It was only then I remembered what Siri told me.

~*flashback*~
Siri: mating season this year for werewolves is going to be between March 16th and march 30th. Would you like to add that to your calendar?

"Nah"

~*end flashback*~

Ohhhhhh stage two means that he's just getting ready to smash. Hmm... I wonder...

"Hey lumine, who's your mate this year?" I ask confidently for once. It seems I asked him at a wrong time, because he was incredibly flustered and kept messing up his words. I'll just ask another time. "Anyways, i really should get going," he said, veering away from my questions. "Promise you'll be back in one piece?" I asked. He nodded and gave me his sweet smile that I always love seeing. Did I just say that? what the fu-

Then he left into the forest.

I expect him to be back by tomorrow.
