3rd person pov

"Don't forget your lunch!" was the last thing she heard before she walked out the door. harper was off to her first day of sophomore year of high school. she just moved to derry from sunny florida, and boy, she was not ready to start this new life. dressed in her light gray sweater, she headed off to school.

Once she got to school, harper was to find the office to grab her schedule. everyone else had already gotten theirs, but since she had just recently moved, she had to get it then.

"to put it simply, i have no fucking idea where anything is. i swear i've circled this school for what seems like 30 ti-" harper thought to herself before plummeting to the ground in front of a boy with brown, defined curls. her cheeks flushed a light shade of pink with embarrassment.

harper pov

ohmygodohmygodohmygod. i can't believe i've already made a fool of myself and its only the first day of school.

"sorry, that was completely my fault. i wasn't paying attention and-" i started rambling before the boy cut me off.

"don't sweat it," he laughed," i'm stanley by the way, but my friends call me stan." the boy- stan- said. he then offered me his hand to help me up, which i gladly accepted. "first day?" how'd he know...

"yeah," i laughed," is it that obvious?"

"well... yes, but its also the first day of school." he reminded me before bursting out laughing.

face-palm... wow harper great going.

"i'm trying to find the office to get my schedule but i cant find it anywhere... could you maybe possibly help me?" i asked him quietly.

he laughed to himself, "no problem.... right this way m'lady!" he exclaimed before slinging his arm over my shoulders and starting toward the office.

"welcome to derry high."

-lunch-

by lunch, i was way more settled in. i had stan in my first period class, so that really helped. although... i was quite worried about lunch. i hadn't seen stan since first, so i had no clue what lunch period he had. luckily (and not so luckily as i'd later find out) as soon as i walked in a heard a male voice scream, "HARPER!" i knew that voice, it was stan.

i walked over to him and the... group of people with him? oh boy...

"hi harper!" stan said before patting the seat next to him. i gladly sat down, being thankful i wasn't sitting by the trashcans as i had previously planned.

all of the kids in the group had introduced themselves except one. he had these thick glasses and brown-black curly-ish hair.

"i'm richie, richie tozier. and why exactly are you here?" he said with a smirk.

"and with that, i'm leaving..." i said before getting up to exit the table, followed by my run out of the cafeteria.

"what the fuck, richie?" stan exclaimed before running after me.

"hey, its not my fault you let some random bitch into OUR group!" richie yelled back, causing me to break.

i knew i wouldn't be wanted here... and now i'm alone.
