The Best Gift

The Special Lake

Kayella's POV

 I wake up and see everyone still sleeping. I get down to go brush my teeth and changed into the spare clothes that was in the closet. I tiptoe slowly and pass by Liam's and Zayn's bed. Zayn was snoring loudly and Liam looked peaceful when he slept. I smile again and go outside. Birds were singing and the morning air cooled me. I sit on a log, thinking how i'm going to cope with all that's happening. My phone goes off and I check who it is. It's my dad. Shoot. I haven't called him since the concert.

 ME: Hello? DAD: Kayella where are you?! I called your aunt and she said she didn't know where you were! ME: I'm fine! You wouldn't believe where we stayed at. Since Aunt Erna had work and you couldn't pick us up, we went and stayed at a hotel with One Direction! DAD: Well that's good honey, but I said.. ME: I know I know, no BOYS but we had no choice and nothing happened to us. We're fine. DAD: Ok since your with One Direction, i'll let you stay with them as long as you want/can. ME: REALLY!? Thanks so much dad! Ok I have to go, i'll call you later. I love you bye! DAD: Love you too sweetheart bye.

 I hang up the phone and start walking around. " You're up early, it's 7:56." I laugh and say," Yea, I couldn't sleep much. The airs nice out here." Liam comes out from behind me and stops me. " You wanna see somethin?" he asks me. " Um sure." He smiles and pulls me towards the thick trees. A fear suddenly creeps on me when we go in. I duck under branches and squeeze between trees. I try to keep up with him until he suddenly disappears. I start to become worried that I was lost. " Liam! Where are you?" I scream. I start running through the trees, despite how many times I get scratched. 

 Soon, I push away two bushes and see a beautiful lake surrounded by willows. The grass was so green and flowers were scattered everywhere. " Pretty, isn't it?" I whirl around and run towards Liam. I run into his arms and he falls back onto the ground, bringing me with him. We fall hard but we just laugh through the pain.

 "Missed me much?" he said as he grinned at me. I punch his arm and he fakes a pained expression. " You left me! I got so scared of getting lost." His expression becomes serious and he hugs me tightly. "I'll never leave you, I promise that." I smile and chuckle. " Wow really? You make that sound like you love me because of your serious tone." He turns a little red and says," I do love you." I start to feel my face burn and my heart bursts with happiness. " As a little sister. Someday i'll introduce you to Danielle, she'll love you." I feel my heart break. This is why I didn't want to fall for anyone, it'll only leave me heartbroken. I turn from him so he wouldn't see my eyes water. " Let's go swimming yeah?" he asks. "Okay." I run as fast as I can into the water so he wouldn't see my eyes go red. I try to forget and focus on having fun.

Kristyna's POV

 I wake up and see that Kayella was gone. I look at Liam/Zayn's bunk and snicker when he's gone too. Oh snap, I wonder where they went. I check my phone and it's 9:54. Up and early aren't they? I go outside and walk around. The twigs snap under my feet and I end up bumping into Harry. " Hey, what are you doing out here? I thought you were still sleeping," I asked. " Same here." I laugh and ask him if he knew where Kayella & Liam were at. " No haven't seen them, I was wondering if he took her to the lake," he says and then smiles. I love his smile. " Follow me."

 " Wow, this place reminds me of the meadow from twilight but with a lake," I said. I followed him through the woods and I have to admit thats it's weird for it to be surrounded by a creepy forest. " I know, Liam and I found it when we were dared by the guys to explore this part of the forest. We never told them about the lake. When we found it, we made a promise to bring the girl that was very special to us here." I feel paralyzed after what he said. " So, if you brought me here, does that mean i'm very special?" I sputter. He smiles again. " Of course, i've never met a girl like you before and you have a funny side." I grin. " Sooo, earlier you said that you were wondering if Liam took her here. If he took her here that would mean that she's very special to Liam?" I question. " Yes."

Liam's POV

 Kayella and I end up staying here until 1 and I enjoyed every second of it. We were wet and hungry when we got back. " HEEEY! VAS HAPPENING??? WHERE YOU GUYS BEEN??" Zayn shouts while biting into a taco. " Just uhh... found ummm... " I fumble. I don't want them to know about the lake. " Aww, the lad's lost for words haha," Niall chuckles. " Umm yea I am I guess. We just found a pond and we slipped so yeah." Harry walks up to us and sneers," So he took you to the lake huh? Guess you're his very special girl. Don't even think he took Danielle there yet." I start to feel angry but then gets replaced by guilt. Danielle's my special girl but instead I took someone else. I look at Kayella and she turns red. " Umm i'm gonna go and take a shower," she says and scurries off.

 She comes out later and passes without looking at me. She always smiles and glances at me. She sits down at the table with Kristyna and they start talking while eating some tacos. Kristyna points at me and Kayella slams her hand down. She starts turning red again and puts her head down. Weird. I shrug it off and go into the shower room.

 I come out and see everyone packing. " We're leaving?" I ask. " Yeah, we have to go home. Kristyna's parents want her to get back," Kayella says without looking at me. AGAIN. Wonder what's wrong.
