With opened arms and a wide smile, Piros dropped to the grass. His face was bathing in sunlight. The breeze was entangled between his arms and legs, just what he wanted and needed. The Red gazed into the sky and layed there in silence. He was admiring the moving clouds, the birds and dancing leaves in the air. He wanted to be just like them, free and no care. No worries over his long-life engagement or being pushed around. Piros closed his eyes and laughed softly in delight. This really was what he wanted and needed.
Farkas placed down the basket Angela brought for the 3 of them and sat next to Piros. His arms behind his back and using his hands as support. He was silent, usually he would talk about how annoyed he is about being outside or talk bad about Angela. Even if he did spoke ill about Angela, he loved her anyway, she was his cousin and Rahel was their Uncle. Farkas was the youngest between them, which explained his little rebel phase. The rest of the family moved out once their Red died, they left in sorrow and wishing for a way to forget, but Rahel stayed and looked after Angela and Farkas as if they were his children. His Red wasn't able to give birth sadly... Died doing so and the child died with her, leaving Rahel in a complete heart broke situation.
The wolf looked at Piros with a side glance. He then turned and rested on his side with his left hand supporting his head.
"Your earing... Eva had 2 earnings, why do you only have one?" He asked Piros, his eyes admiring his earing.
"It is not a regular earing nor its one of just inheritance," Piros took a deep breath and tried to find words to explain what he was just about to say. He turned to his side, using his palm as a cushion."It helps us control our power. The Red family has a sort of power, but every 5th child has this power but a lot stronger and the earing helps us control it." He said and took off his earing, he crawl a bit closer to Farkas, making the Wolf a bit wary. They were just a few inches apart, yet not exactly close.
"If you look closely, inside the diamond, there is like an..."
"An aurora..." Farkas whispered the words that Piros was gonna say. Piros nod in agreement. They both stared at the diamond and slowly moved their gazes to themselves.
"The power comes to its surface once they have found... Real love to harvest the power..." Piros said in a soft voice not breaking eye contact with Farkas.
They layed their quietly, just staring at each other in silence. Only the song of the trees and their soft breathing was the only sound around them. It was like an enchantment. Farkas did want to break away is eyes, but Piros eyes reminded him about Eva a bit too much. He saw Eva when he looked at Piros, which wasn't good anyway. Piros eyes looked clear with the sun's shimmer, Farkas had only seen Piros' eyes under a roof, so he always saw his eyes a dark green, as if the deepest point of a forest were in them.Piros opened his mouth but hesitated, it was as if his words will later bring regret. This made the comfortable silence a bit awkward.
"Piros, Farkas!" Angela called them and they both jumped in the spot. Piros with a small flush of red on his cheeks, while Farkas was just scared of having Angela think the complete opposite pf the situation. The female stared at both of them in confusion, as if she just missed something.
"Did... You guys do something?" She asked them, getting a chuckle from Piros and an annoyed look from Farkas.
"We were just talking about my earing, nothing important." The Red said with a smile as he placed back his earing. Angela looked dissappointed, she had hoped for them to grow a bit closer while she was gone. She knows that as long as her presence was there, Farkas would act in a distant way. Which was true, they did grow a bit close and Farkas will act distant."Well, should we return?" She asked them, getting a frown from Piros.
"Don't worry my boy, we will come here more often." Angela said with a smile and ruffled Piros hair before walking towards their house.Piros fixed his hair and his hood. A hand stretched in front of him, it was Farkas'. The Red stared at him for a few seconds, not beliving that the Wolf wanted to help him get up, but at the same time, it wasn't that big of a deal, right?
Piros didn't hesitate to take it and stood with Farkas help. Their hands stayed in each other's for a few second and Farkas pulled away, not staying back longer and following Angela. The Red stared as they both walked away, staying back and breathing in the forest before following them. He wished deep down to repeat the day. A day out in fresh air, just enjoying the wind and the trees, and having Farkas talk to him as he did. As if he cared for him, even if it was for a few seconds. It felt nice when he did. A small warm beat surfaced inside Piros chest, he was happy. Really happy. That day was like any other day he had enjoyed with his family, but now it was his new family. He finally felt like he was able to find a part in his home.↶ ❦ ↷
