after the cover was edited and such, harvey and i left the studio. i kept thinking of the way her looked at me when i started singing. his half-smile with his mouth slightly ajar made me smile to myself. "ella, you never told me you could sing," he said to me as we walked back to my house. i shrugged. "i mean, no one knows..so it's not a big deal," i replied. "it is a big deal! you sounded amazing," he said back. i smiled, shook my head, then changed the subject to him.
"you never told me about any of this," i said to him, as we continued walking. "you never asked," he replied simply. "well it still would've been nice to know," i said back. "well, what do you want to know?" he asked. i started asking all sorts of questions related to his music life and he gave me an answer to each one.
we talked about his music life the whole way home. as it turns out, he loves singing and dropped it because if he did get famous, which probably would've happened, he didn't want there to be pressure on our relationship. at the time, we were in a serious (or so i thought) relationship: last summer. i missed it. this summers coming in literally two months, which is crazy.
harvey dropped me off at my doorstep. "i'll talk to you tomorrow?" harvey asked as i stood outside facing him. i nodded and smiled. he then turned to go but i stopped him. "harvey. wait," i called after him. he turned around. "ye-" he started to say before i cut him off with a kiss. a million sparks flew around us. it felt like we were the only people in the world.
after a few seconds, i pulled away and harvey smiled at me. i smiled back. "thanks babe," he said, his smile faltering a little as he realized what he said. i was a little shocked. i just nodded and went into my house. he just called me babe and we aren't together. was he thinking of last summer too? the kiss we'd just shared felt just like our first of many that we'd shared last summer.
once inside, i cleaned up and went into my room. just as i was about to start relaxing, my phone blew up with texts from a groupchat with all of my friends.
