"Its okay, my child." it said. "There's no such thing as..." it suddenly stopped and slowly turned its head toward me "HUMANS"
"AHH!" I jumped awake at 7:00 a.m, shaking from my nightmare, but my horror quickly turned to excitedness. I couldn't wait to share it with my friends. I went back to sleep, and slowly lost conciousness. But before I could completely sleep, my brain went Did I tell you its not yet Saturday?
"Oh, you buggin' brain. You should've woken me up earlier.I'm gonna be late."
Well, I DID give you a nice dream, didn't I? It's worth it to be late
"Yeah, right. What was my dream again?"
Dunno
"I hate you."
I hurriedly took a bath, dressed, cooked some toast, ate, brushed his teeth, and said goodbye to my mum.
School was boring, without my friends. We weren't classmates, so I really wanted to see them at lunch.
When lunch came, I went to our regular hang out place, which is a dead tree, outside the cafeteria.
Minutes passed, and not a single soul approached me. They weren't the kind that would be very late.
"Maybe they're sick and decided to stay at home."
Sick at the same time? Dodgy..
my brain said.
I sighed. "Sometimes, I wonder why my brain talks back to me."
Well, I AM a brain.. I do whatever I want.
I finished my lunch, got up, and slept at my classroom until lunch break was over.
RIIIIING.
A bell rang, signaling that classes were over. Students filled the halls immediately, and there I was, being crushed by people.
"Excuse me." I said, trying to get to my locker in one piece.
Almost there! My brain shouted encouragement.
"Just.. let.. me.. throu-woaah!"
I fell, face first. I looked behind me, and saw Randy, the biggest (and dumbest) bully in school, with his pack of bullies. They were all like Randy. Big and Stupid.
"Thanks a LOT, Randy." I said as I got up and picked up my books and shoved them in my locker while him and his pack were laughing.
"Hey, you did want to get through. I just helped you."
"Yeah, I know. That's why I said thanks. I'm not slow."
I looked him in the eye. He was wearing a puzzled look, meaning he didn't get what I said. I turned and went.
Why isn't he expelled? My brain asked.
"We're both asking the same question, brain." I answered.
I started to walk home when suddenly, I got a text message.
It was from my friend, Dexter.
"Hey, Adam! Guess what? "
"What?" I replied.
"Guess!" he texted back.
"You skipped class for some reason."
"Close enough.. Come to the Park."
"Do I really need to?"
"JUST COME!" he replied.
I checked the time, 6:30. I wondered what I needed to do.
Hmmm.. I can't remember.. Can you? my brain asked
"That's what I'm trying to let you do, brain. Remember. I seem to be forgetting something really important.."
Well, dunno. YOU remember.
"YOURE my brain. YOU do the work" I told my brain, but it didn't really respond.
I sighed. ."Well, nothing else to do, so why not go?"
