Camden's P.O.V

It lasts longer than I had expected. Not that I'd had any initial expectations...it happened in a spur of the moment. He's still not pulling away. Why? Then his hands push into my chest and I'm forced back into a cubicle. I wince at the sudden contact, only looking up in time to capture a glimpse of his face before he'd run out of the bathroom.
The slightly furrowed brow, widened eyes and reddened cheeks. His hand was brought to his lips in shock. At that moment, I knew he hated me. The realisation was something that I couldn't bear...

"Camden! Hey...Cam!"
I turn to the colder side of my pillow and twitch. It's over.

"Listen! I'm going to get a glass of water and splash it over your face, ok?"
No, don't leave me. I didn't mean to, you encouraged it to happen, how could you not have known? Maya!

"Who the hell is Maya?"
My vision gradually comes to light as I lift my eyelids. They're heavy with sleep, that's for sure. Unfortunately, Jason becomes clearer besides my surroundings; leaning over me with a look of distaste.

"Well? Answer me you great slug!"
"Juxtaposition" I say, lazily.
"What?..." he responds.
"The words 'great' and 'slug' are different, in the sense that one is positive and the other is negative. So which am I? Absolute greatness..or a slug?"

He looks utterly dumbfounded. That is before he finds how to speak again.
"Oh, shut it! Don't act as if you're intelligent in any form with me, Cam.

You were dreaming about that girl again. What's her name? Maya-"
"You don't know anything" I quickly interrupt. Jason, my younger brother, should have stayed in his cuter youth.

Having only befriended Maya for a few months or so Jason had easily forgotten him within these four years.
"Yeah, I don't know anything. Not a damn thing! Just tell me who she is" he insists, a scowl tugging at his lips. I shake my head, but this only infuriates him further.

To tell the truth, I don't want to dream about Maya. The feelings that I'd caught were undoubtedly pathetic. After a couple of days situating from the kiss, news had spread. It ruined my entire middle school experience.

Luckily we attended different high schools, and no one knew of my dilemma (or they just didn't care.)
Where ever he is and what ever he's doing now is none of my concern, nor is my well-being of his.

Sometimes I wish I could control my dreams; or rather, nightmares.

My phone vibrates atop of the bedside table, and I notice Jason's eyes flicker to the sudden movement before mine.

He snatches it up with a sort of greediness and triumph before answering the call.

An obvious feminine voice sounds on the other side.
"Ha!" Jason exclaims, "hello Maya!"
I feel my heart stop.

Then his grin droops and my heart somehow shudders to life.
"Ugh...it's just Allison. Well, here then."

I take the phone quite carefully and hold it to my ear.
"Al?"

"Yes? Camden?"
"Ah..." I breathe, relaxing into bed.
"Why 'ah'? Are you surprised to hear my voice?"

"Not quite, but something like that."
"Oh, haha. Well, I was wondering whether you'd want to go shopping today. I understand it's not really your thing and you can decline...obviously-"

"It's Sunday, Allison. The shops are more than likely to be closed."
"I checked! They're open until five."
"Five? It's one right now."
"Exactly, so hurry up please. I'll be round in ten-"
