You can be the best swimmer in the world but still drown.

I promise you that depression is NO joke. One minute you can feel like you're on top of the world and you have no more worries, then the next minute you can feel like you're a piece of scum and no one cares about you.

Sometimes it can feel like there's a million voices in your head convincing you to have a pessimistic mindset, convincing you that there's no other way to think. They'll tell you that no one cares about you, and if they did they'd have said or done certain things in the past. And it's hard to get out of that mindset, especially when you've been in it for a long time. Then eventually you realize that those voices are disguised in your own voice.

But doesn't society tell you that your past makes you who you are today, right? So why is thinking about your past so dangerous. Why is it that every time you think about your past it makes you want to go and hide in a corner somewhere?
