"Eww look at her."

"Shes so gross."

"Did you see what she was wearing?"

Faceless voices called down the hall after her. Ashton ran down the hall trying to get away. Why is evne so mean? The first day of school was great but every other day after that people have been nothing but mean. Calling me names and pushing me down and spilling my lunch.

Lauren was the worst, leading everyone. She's the one that would shove me in the halls and volunteer me in class, and dump my lunch on the ground. What is wrong with everyone? Are they that homophobic? Maybe coming out was a bad idea. At least Ian, the boy from the bus, was nice and understanding.

Note to every gay person: Be careful; watch out before you come out.

God, people are awful.

"Hey there, dyke." "What's up fag?" They'd call at me. I've heard all the names in the book.

As the thought of Lauren crossed my mind, I got slammed into the locker by her.

"Fucking dyke." She hollered and laughter from all around roared up. Everyone was laughing as if she told the funniest joke in the world.

"Haha, hilarious." I retorted, standing back up to face her, just to be shoved back down with such brute force. I was shocked at how such a pretty girl could be so strong. "What the fuck did I ever do wrong?" I screamed in a fit of tears and ran throught the circle of people that had enclosed us. As I ran I tripped and I could hear more laughter as the called ugly slurs at me.

"Have a nice trip."

"See you next fall."

Gym, the only class I had where I wasn't bullied because everyone was afraid of the teacher. Today we were practicing track and we were waiting to be assigned partners.

"Marie Adams, you'll be with Schyuler Alexandria." This remark was followed by a collective sigh because no one wanted to be with Marie.

"Joni Smith, you'll be with Lisa Hark. Lauren Cimorelli-" She paused, listening to the hushed excitement that followed her name. Everyone wanted to be partners with Lauren, "you'll be with... Ashton Tyler."

I gasped, Lauren was shocked, everyone else was silenced. This was the moment. My moment. I could make things better and show off to her!

"No, no, ms. Liz, I can't-" Lauren began, before being cut off by the teacher.

"Silence ms.Cimorelli, you will be partners with her and you'll deal with it." She remarked, continuing down the list of partners.

"Lets go Ashton. Apparently we have to be partners, why we need partners in the first place, I don't know, but don't talk to me, okay?" She sneered.

"Okay." I replied, blatantly disobeying her wishes. She rolled her perfected orbs of chestnut sunshine and blew hair out of her face. I smiled at her as she glanced over. Immediately my smile disappeared. "Sorry."

"Whatever. Just... I'm sorry, I guess." She sighed.

"For what?" I questioned.

"Oh, what? I didn't say anything." She said, speeding up to get away from me.

(Laurens POV)

'I'm sorry' God, I can't believe I said that! Am I insane? She's the one that should be sorry!

But for what? Being who she is? Im a terrible pers-

No! No I'm not! I'm a Great person, I'm just doing what is right! But what is right? Maybe I should apologize? No, I will apologize when she apologizes and changes! Yeah! that's what I will do.

"Christina, I have a question..." I asked my older sister in whoms name sale I share (my middle name is Christine) and in which I trust completely.

"Yeah? What is it?" She asked, slightly curious about my question.

"There's this girl-"

"Do you like her?" She teased jokingly.

"Well, actually, I might... But she's gay and I've been bullying her this past week and I can never make it up to her now!" I remarked.

"Heres what you gotta do.."

*~*~*~*~*~*

I wasn't gonna do that.
