Her first birthday
The day when she finally turns 1
She was so excited to see the colorful balloons and the different people that came to see her
I was excited to see her smile while she shoves her birthday cake into her chubby face
There is a Korean tradition that first borns take part in
It deals with the different people in the Bible
Ellie has to pick a certain color scroll (rolled paper) which contains a certain trait and a person in the Bible
She reached her hand towards the bowl
As she reached for the scrolls, she instantly grabbed the green scroll
Bravery
Bravery? Interesting.
I didn't really expect bravery, but life does the most unexpected things to this world
The person in the Bible?
David
A skinny, young boy who killed a giant
Who became a king
Who was brave enough to kill someone to protect his home land
Who was brave enough to do the impossible
If a young, skinny boy had the courage, bravery, and strength to fight a giant, then Ellie can fight the weight of the world
Even if the weight of sin and darkness is stronger than Ellie
She will push through
She will shine
Like the North Star
Inside
I feel the weight of the world crushing me
Everyday
Every night
Every second
Every hour
Every year
I am not strong enough to carry this world off my weak shoulders
Ellie isn't strong enough to push through on her own
But together
We can outshine the world's wrath of sin
We can stand as one against the war behind our backs
We can step foot towards the darkness without being touched by the cruse that Mother Nature set against us
I love her
I won't stop loving my one and only cousin
Inside my lonely heart
I have a strong feeling that I can help her
And even maybe
She could help me.
