Chapter 7: Meant to Be

Joey's POV

I dropped Meghan off at her house. By the end of this week, we would be living together. I jumped on my bed like if I was a child again.

I decided that I should start packing so I wouldn't do it last minute. As I was clearing out my drawers, Sawyer walked into my room. "Joey you're back?" Sawyer asked as he entered my room.

"Sorry if I woke you up. I didn't know that I made so much noise" I said. "Why are you packing" Sawyer said now that he was awake. "I've decided to move with Meghan in this house that we found" I replied.

"Joey this again?!" Sawyer said angrily. "Again?" I asked. "You're falling in love with someone who eventually is going to break your heart. And guess who's going to be picking up the pieces, me" Sawyer explained.

"You know I've never been in love Sawyer" I said.

"Cut the bullshit Joey. You're just afraid to admit to anyone that you are in love with them because you think that admitting to someone that you love them, makes you vulnerable. And when you are vulnerable, you are more susceptible to heart-break" Sawyer yelled.

"What are you saying then?" I said now looking down. "Don't move in with Meghan. She'll break your heart. It's déjà vu all over again" Sawyer said before he left my room.

I didn't know anymore. I didn't know if it was wise to break Meghan's heart before she broke mine. Or if it was wise to take a risk.

David's POV

I heard Meghan's car as she parked in the driveway. I stared at the old grandfather clock that we got in a tag sale earlier this summer.

It was 11. 11 wasn't that late to be out. But 11 was late enough to concern me dealing with the fact that Meghan was spent the whole day with Joey Graceffa.

"Where have you been?" I asked Meghan concerned. "I told you I've been with Joey" she responded.

"You should be more careful around Joey. I've seen this before Meghan. I don't want you to get hurt again" I warned her.

Meghan shook her head and smiled at me. "I think I know what this is about. Joey isn't going to take you away from me if that's what you think. You're my brother" Meghan said. She patted me in the back as an attempt to comfort me.

"That didn't stop Jimmy. You were always busy with him and forgotten about me. When you guys broke up, I was actually kind of glad. I was able to comfort you and be your brother again Meghan" I said with a modest tone.

"It will be different this time. I'll make sure of it David" Meghan replied.

"What's stopping Joey from taking you away from me and breaking your heart again?" I said.

"Because... This time you'll be living with us. You've known Joey for as long as I have. I promise it won't be like last time" Meghan said.

I held her hand and gave her a slight nod. She sighed in relief. I knew Meghan would move in with Joey no matter what I said. She was love blind again.

She was right though. This time was different. This time I would be there for the chaos that would erupt between Joey and Meghan.
