I was in a separate room from Nicolai and his family, dressed in a simple black dress with a choker necklace around my neck. I left my hair down and had simple makeup on. I wanted to look nice when I meet Nicolai's parents because they are the King and Queen of Denmark. I didn't want to displease them, so I thought that I should go simple and elegant for the dinner tonight. As I waited for my parents, my nerves kicked in big time. There was nothing for me to do while I waited, so my nerves took over my body. I eventually decided to take a seat in the chair, but as soon as I sat down, my parents entered the room.

I was so happy to see my father and mother, so I jumped out of my seat and ran over to give my father a hug. He wore one of his normal suits because he isn't one to change his sense of style just because he is meeting someone of high rank and importance. But, expensive suit or not, he still looked presentable.

"Thanks for coming!" I said to my parents.
"We wouldn't disappoint our daughter." my mother replied. "Besides, I think it is nice that his parents invited us to the palace."
I smiled at my mom. No matter what kind of negativity was in the air, she always found a way to remain positive.
"Well follow me, Nicolai and his family are in the other room." I explained.
