Mom: So what do you think of your niece and nephew. (not actually my aunt)
Shane: They done went and grown up on me. I wish they could stay little kids forever.
Mom & Lily(her wife): Oh don't we know the feeling.
Lily: Zj's 18 and Zay's 17. They just grow up so fast. Zj's waiting on some of her college acceptance letters. She hopes with all her heart to get into Clark Atlanta.
Mom: Yeah, that's been her dream for years.
Shane: Well let's hope for the best. Lord knows she's smart enough to get into any school she wants to anyway.
Me: PREACH!
I must have said that a little too loud. I decided to play it off like I had already begun to walk down the stairs and " just so happened" to overhear the last part.
After descending the stairs I walked into the kitchen along with my mother. I came into the kitchen for a snack and a Figi, but she came in to have girl talk.
" You know you can talk to me anytime you need to right."
" Of course Mom."
" I mean anything at anytime no matter what it is or where you are."
" Yes Mom, I'm fine, school was fine, my relationship with Troy is fine, and college is gonna be just fine." I say while placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
My mom sighs and walks out of the kitchen. I grab my snacks and follow suit.
As we walk back into the living room we see a rushing Lily grabbing her keys as well as a confused Zay.
" Baby, we gotta go do that thing with Zay, remember?"
For a second my mom looked confused but soon regained her memory let out a low ohhhhh. She then said they would be home late so don't wait up and hurriedly walked out the door.
These actions left both Shane and I flabbergasted. I soon realized my Cheez-It box was now empty.
When I returned from throwing away my box the lively happy Shane was replaced by a now sleeping reckless Shane.
So I hate the fact that when I sleep my hair gets into my face, so I developed a habit of fixing people's hair when they're asleep. So when I notice that Shane's hair is all over the place, it erks my nerves.
Once I go to fix it, the following events are ones that I could have never perceived.
