I watched my breath escape within the cold winter air.
The stars looked beautiful tonight, it's hard to see them in a city like mine. For some reason they shined brighter than ever.
I could feel the stare of Namjoon from my right.
"The stars look beautiful tonight, don't they?" I remarked trying to start up a conversation.
"Not as beautiful as you." He mumbled.
I didn't know what to say so I dodged the comment.
"Where are we going exactly?" I said while tucking my hands into my hoodie.
Good saveee Aurora.
"We're actually almost there." He pointed up ahead.
We were still in the same neighborhood. The same old neighborhood we both grew up in. We cried, laughed, and learned here.
I didn't realize what he was doing until we turned the corner and up ahead was the old park we used to always meet up at when we were younger.
"A park." I laughed and nudged his arm.
"Come on, when's the last time you swung on a swing." He joked around, running through the mulch.
He had a point, I haven't been by here in a long time. It brought back many memories.
"Remember when I jumped off the swing and scraped my knee, ha I thought it was the end of the world." He chuckled, kicking the little pieces of wood around.
"If I wasn't there to help you up you probably would have been sobbing there forever." I said sitting on the swing.
"You always were there." He looked up to meet my eyes.
"You too." I said, watching him make his way behind me.
"Hold on tight." He said while he pushed my back.
This was simple, but I enjoyed it. It was something I needed and it looks like Namjoon did as well.
Be back before the streetlights come on kids! My mom yelled from the steps of our little house on the corner.
"We will!" Namjoon yelled, laughing at my parents rules. "Why is your ma so strict?" He questioned while kicking a lone pebble across the street.
"I dunno, she just worries since its just the two of us." I responded.
"Well we better make use of our time." He said grabbing my hand. "Shall we?"
"We shall." I chuckled, running after him.
------
We laid in the grass not too far from the park, looking up at the portrait of stars above us.
We shared memories and laughed to the point where our stomach cramped.
We were side by side, Namjoon and I, nothing else mattered.
I felt his fingers intertwine with mine. It was comforting and warm. I didn't pull away.
"I need to tell you something." Namjoon sighed.
He sat up and looked at me, inches apart.
"Go ahead." I whispered.
"Im..." He was cut off by the sound of tires screeching in the street behind us.
"Shit!" Namjoon yelled as he got up and brushed the grass off his pants.
"What, what's that." I said sitting up.
"Not what who, lay back down." Namjoon demanded as he walked toward the man in the black car.
I did what he said. The car that was parked a few yards away just happened to be the car that was parked outside the building when I was at the pizzeria.
I thought of Tae and what he told me.
I shouldn't rush into things, I really don't know what he's gotten himself into.
I stayed still, trying to pick up on the conversation that was going on behind me."Who's that."
"Who's who."
"Don't fucking play games."
"She didn't see you."
"Bring her here."
My heart dropped and I began to panic.
I could hear the grass crunch beneath Joon's feet and before I knew it he was standing above me.
"Im sorry." He mumbled, bringing me to my feet.
