Chapter Two

"No.Dammit no klary" i glared at my best friend as we stood outside my house. "were skipping school. I'm going to bite you so i can heal you. Then you are going to shower and dress however you feel like dressing and we are going to meet orieas." klaryence matched my glare. " You didn't see him em. The man was distraught i was terrified he would kill me then and there for keeping you from him. He was also in a lot of hurt. so i know you're hurting too."  he leans closer to me and tries as always to be the voice of reason. i expose my bruised and dislocated sholder to him and close my eyes to wait. He pushes my shoulder into place and i cry out in pain. he takes my forearm and exposes the skin there revealing the skin covered in bite marks and scars . Klaryence being a were-fennec can heal others with his bite. Its why his race became extinct. Vampires and witches or warlocks would hunt them down to use them for their bite. It's how Klaryence's parents died a warlock took them and pulled out their teeth then tortured them just to see if he could harness the power of the bite. His sister was later taken and killed by vampires.  He's the only one left and i would protect him with my life as he would mine. I groan in pain as he sinks his teeth into my arm. The scars. He's done this so many times already and almost always its because of her. "i'll go Klary. Thank you. " i decided if i'm going to protect klary i needed to start protecting myself too. With this new found determination i dressed as a feminine theo and a laid back eemagine. i was going to let my mate know just who i am.

we get to the park quickly and before orieas too. Orieas his spanish name just flows off your tongue. I caught klaryence calling him arias a couple of times since the pronunciation is similar. No he's much more than a simple arias. i shuddered at the thought of oreias. "cold?" asked klaryence. "no just thinking. its funny how i'm supposed alpha in this and you're the one usually taking care of me why? we take care of each other sure but you do it more often. You should be the alpha." i look him over seriously. " no. you are, you are the one who helped me when i was younger we were ten eems when the vamps came for me. You fought tooth and nail against those vamps. you were going to die. for me. i couldn't i bit you and healed you over and over again. i told you to run. you didn't run that time eems. you were eemagine and you didn't run you stayed and fought and taught me to fight. theo never has done something like that for me. he runs from his mate scared, he runs from your mom, theo is a coward." i growl at the last part of klaryence speech. Then begin remembering the day i protected him and promised his dying sister to always protect him.  "as for alpha title we can both be co alphas if you want. it won't really matter because of how unconventional our "pack" is. we only call it that so we can mindlink like pack animals. "

klaryence is now sitting next to me with his head on my shoulder. "As always Klary your right. Its one of the reasons i love you." He laughs his throaty laugh and shakes his head. Klaryence stops and sniffs the air. "we should go into the gazebo on the other side of the park its going to rain hard." i begin standing up from the bench when he grabs my hand and slowly turns my around to face him. Klaryence pulls me into a hug before laying a kiss on my temple. "were about to be watched by lover boy hes shifting into his human form and is looking at us behind the tree." Klaryence was right i sniffed the air and was immediately welcomed with fresh grass and lemonade. I look up at klaryence as he leans forward to kiss my forehead again. Klaryence being a small animal and shifter he is skittish. we realized when we were around eight that he could always tell when "trouble" or what he thought would later be trouble was coming our way. Klaryence isnt a big fan of rain since it rained the night his parents were taken.  I feel myself being pulled into another kiss by klaryence but a little more intimate one when we are interrupted by a loud growl.

I turn my head to orieas and crouch in front of klaryence and growl just as menacingly back. His face came off as shocked then angry. To defend another from your mate the way i was was a slap in the face to orieas. Orieas whimpers at me still in human form to show how much i hurt him. I abandon my defensive position and push out my hand for a handshake. "hi orieas"  i say nonchalant. Orieas seems to physically calm down and his entire demeanor changes. "say it again" he asked with his eyes closed. i look at him confused and repeat my previous greeting. "whats that about." i ask kinda hoping its not a creep answer. " i love how you're voice sounds when saying my name." nope hope wrongly given. i roll my eyes at his silliness. " two minutes" a very nervous klaryence states. I take klaryence hand and again am met with a growl but this time orieas tries to cover it up with coughs . "sorry im trying not to be defensive but when you show him any affection my heart hurts." he whimpers. my heart swells at the thought of someone besides klaryence caring so much. "we need to get to the gazebo now. " i say leading them both over. As soon as we enter the rain pours down hard and heavy like the goddess herself was shedding her personal tears.
