CHAPTER 2
Blair
I opened my eyes after inhaling the smoke the girl has produced and bumping my head on the ground. I stood up and saw what it seems to be, a huge ball which is made of gold, in between two, big trees. It is carved into bird’s wings with its roots from the back and it’s forming a ball by clenching its wings together. Just looking at it, I can assume there is something hidden inside, protected by these life-like wings. The surface looks beautiful, with a few creative holes and bumps which support dozens of beautiful diamonds. There are also carvings which detail the wings.
I approach it, still unable to walk straight after that horrible fall. I examine the remarkable structure. My curiosity suddenly rises and I attempt to touch it, just before the identical wings open up before me, releasing a blinding light which makes me cover up my eyes with my two hands immediately.
Everything starts to whirl. I squint to see the forest dissolving into some place I know. I shake my head and open my eyes. I find myself lying on a soft bed that seems so familiar to my skin. I look around. “I’m at home.”
I stare at the ceiling, thinking about what I have dreamt just now. It seems to be the continuation of my dream last night. I try to move, but I seem so stiff. “You alright?” someone whispered quietly that seems to have startled me. I look to my right and saw a shadow with the shape of a human becoming smaller and thinner. I was frightened, my eyes widening as the figure moves closely to where I am. I felt relieved after seeing that it was only Trevor.
I find myself being dragged in to his arms. He holds me tightly with his lips touching my hair. It felt like heaven. I feel his warm breath breezing to my left ear, and I felt so secured, so safe. He finally pulls off and looks at me, intensely, with his strong arms rested on my shoulders. He examines me as my eyes make their way to his. His eyes sparkling brightly, reflected from the rays of the sun coming through the window on my right. As predicted, I am captivated by his hypnotizing gaze. He smiles as I stare at him, making me realize how gorgeous he looks.
He made me lie down my bed, as I let him stroke my hair and sit beside me. I feel myself shiver. “What happened?” I finally asked, as soft as possible, as I avoid his eyes. “You fainted.” No kidding. I thought sarcastically. “But no worries, Mr. J let me stay with you until the doctor in the school clinic confirms that you must rest here. I called your mom, and I joined you in coming here. You’ve been out for... (He looks at his watch) approximately 6 hours.” Six hours. My sleep ate a lot of time that I could’ve used for studying or whatsoever. I really hate lying around wasting good time.
I stand up at once, directing myself to the bathroom just a few meters located to the left of my bed, locking the door behind me. I let out a deep sigh and see my reflection. My long, hazelnut hair is all tied up to a single bun on top of the parietal part of my head. Gosh, I look like a model. I thought. I always did, after sleeping. My skin seems as smooth as ever and as pink as the fairest, pink, lotus flower. My collarbones, obvious, with their shadows sinking far beneath. My blue, sapphire eyes, glistening in the light, are watery as if I cried all day. My eyelashes, long and beautifully placed on their roots, and my lips, red as a rose. I am still wearing the clothes I went to school with: A black, fitted, the Rolling Stones band, tank top; and a military, cargo pants. I wash my hands and take off my pony tail, letting my hair fall down, in line with my navel. I toss the tie to the sink and let it stay there as I step out of the room.
“Want some?” Trevor asks. I can see him satisfying himself with a box of chocolates. I hurry up to him and grab the box. “Don’t you know it is unhealthy to eat that much chocola – “I started. “I knew you’d say that.” He interrupts while looking away, pretending to be annoyed by my nagging. I sit beside him on the bed and started sniffing the enthralling scent. I pick one up, making sure that he’s looking, and gobble it up. “You know, it’s unhealthy to eat that much chocolate.” He said, laughing and raising his eyebrow. “So I’ve heard” I reply, while giving him some.
