Chapter 13

"I spent the rest of the day on the internet looking for cheap places to rent. My plan is simple: since I don't want Seth to get hurt anymore I will rent him a small studio type apartment. He probably won't let me since its a huge thing but I'm willing to spend my college savings on his rent. I can't just let him get hurt all the time.

"After two hours of searching I come across one two-room studio not far from here. Just by looking at the pictures, I can see it looks somewhat cozy but I'm sure Seth doesn't care about comfort, he just wants to find a better place to stay at.

"Once I finish reserving the place for Seth, I change my clothes, grab my wallet and decide to go to the store to get a few things for myself to celebrate the end of the week. I really like eating junk food, that's what I spend most of my money on but sadly my father doesn't let me do that much, considering he's a doctor and he keeps telling me how bad junk food is and what it'll do to my body.

"I walk to the closest Target I can find, enter the store and grab myself a shopping cart. I fill it with all sorts of chocolate and different kinds of chips. Mostly I get Lay's, Ruffles and all sorts of candy. I head to the drinks section and as I turn around the corner, I accidentally ride into a woman.

"Watch where you're going, you punk." She angrily says.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going."

"Obviously," She murmurs. "Kids these days." Suddenly I see a boy jogging over here, holding some food in his hands. From a far I can see he has brown hair and he looks hot. He comes closer and then says,

"Mum, I got you your yogurts." And he lifts his head. My eyes widen as I look at the boy in front of me.

It's Seth.

In Target.

I gulp as I see his mother staring at the two of us, slightly confused. "Seth, do you know this girl?" She asks and Seth snaps out of his daze and shakes his head.

"No, mother."He places the things he brought to his mother's cart and they walk away quickly. Seth gives me an apologetic smile before walking away. I frown as I think about his mother's appearance once again. To me, she didn't seem like she was addicted to drugs if you don't count the incredibly sucked in cheeks. Other than that her face looks nice.

I take out my phone and check the time. 6:25PM.

"Shit." I mutter under my breath and head straight to the cash registers. I'm supposed to be home in five minutes since my parents were planning on going out to dinner and I need some time to get ready. It only takes me about 10-15 minutes to make myself look somewhat presentable but I still want to use those minutes if I have the chance to do so.

I pay for my things and speed-walk down the street as quickly as I can. Once I enter the house, I see River and Maya sitting on the couch, holding hands and being all lovey-dovey like lovesick teenagers. My parents are in the kitchen, all dressed and I'm the one wearing sweatpants and a random T-shirt. I run upstairs to my room, grab a yellow flowy dress from my closet and pull it on. I put on a pair of nude wedges and apply a small amount of makeup before running downstairs as quickly as I can, while fixing my hair a bit.

"I'm ready!" I say as I step into the living room. "Let's go now, I'm starving."

River and Maya laugh and get up from their seats as my parents also walk to the door. We all sit in my father's car and shortly we arrive at a Chinese restaurant which also serves pizza, pasta and sushi, my favourites.
