As you reach the fifth floor you anticipate another flick of Connor's coin. Surprisingly it didn't sound, as his hand had stopped the coin between his index and middle fingers. The trick making it seem as if he had paused it mid motion. And he returns it to it's rightful home in his jeans. Curiously you watched each methodical move he made. taking note of how he adjusted his tie and straightened the collar of his jacket. His movements were smooth and calculated as he took care of his presentation. While watching this small display your partner put on, you couldn't stop the questions from piling up in your head.

The elevator doors open, presenting the two of you with a wide living room. Suddenly your'e hit with a chill matched to the one outside, and you pull the opening at the top of your coat closed. The heat of the elevator gone you follow your companion down the small steps. Grey light was stretching across the marble flooring grabbing at your shoes. Following it, it lead to the huge windows which were illuminating the horror of the bleak apartment, as well as your other partner. Who was leaning over a crumpled figure. Stepping into view you see it. It was an android, naked her skin hadn't been deactivated. Stomach plate open you could see her insides had been hallowed out. And her left leg was completely missing from her body.

"Why does no one know how to take a fucking order around here?" The lieutenant's gruff voice was evidently angry, and as you readied yourself for an assault, Connor places a peaceful hand on the other mans shoulder. "She's following my orders. Don't worry, I'll watch over her." Suspended the two exchange looks. Hank shakes his head, shaggy hair bouncing slightly. "I don't think she-" "I'll watch over her, Hank." Shrugging off Connor's hand he mumbles something to him, then shoots a glare at you. "Listen, just- don't touch anything." He turns back to the cop he was conversing with before. "Damn partners are running me up a wall Phil, I swear."

"Sure thing..." you say absently returning your gaze to the android. Her green eyes were wide open as if frozen in terror. "How many victims are there?" You question. And a near by officer wearing a hazmat suit chimes in. "13 androids maybe more, and one human." His thumb points behind him towards another room. Noting to check it out later you return your attention back to the victim. Blue blood was dripped around the androids body. Connor crouching next to it, dips two fingers into the sapphire pool. Raising it slowly to his mouth he takes a lick. "Wha-" disgust fills your stomach and you begin to feel queasy. "What're you doing?!" Standing he offers his blue blooded fingers to you for inspection. "I can test samples in real time. Sorry, I tend to forget to warn people." He observes the substance. "This android was killed not too long ago. TheThirium is still visible to the human eye." Staging off your nausea you try to speak. "That's.." Struggling for the right word you clench your stomach.

"HA- Disgusting?" Hank calls from across the room. "Uh- no, no not disgusting, but.. yeah a warning would have been nice.." Stuttering for a proper thing to say you watch him for a reaction. But he seems too interested in the sample to take notice. Taking this as your opportunity you slink away to the window. peering through the thick glass, your reflection is partially blocked by some speckles of red. 'Human blood..' Following the speckles down the glass it leads to the digital marker on the ground by your feet.'Shit' Side stepping you check the soles of your shoes. 'I swear if I just ruined evidence..' A white flash reflects off the glass pulling your eyes to the reflection. A door across the room was ajar. Turning towards it another flash goes off. 'Camera.' Curiosity peaked you follow the allure of the inconsistent flashing light. Hand running along the cold steel of the door it silently swings open. The source of the flashing was from a fellow officer, wearing the same hazmat suit as the the one prior. She's circling her subject getting every possible angle she can. Completely unaware of your stunned presence. Your nausea returning full force as you take in the gruesome scene. A man lay dead, a human. Nothing more than a heap he's perched leaning against the bed. Sheets stained and clenched in his eternal grip. Shirtless, his flesh is covered in dark crusted over blood. A few gashes across his chest long since done seeping were the source of the blood. Purple-ish brown splotches embedded into his throat form a devilish shape of hands. Causing his face to depict the horrific last moments of his life, gasping for breath. The difference between the dead android and the dead human were all too real. 'Don't throw up' You swallow hard trying to push it back. The awful feeling taking over you, your knee's going weak. Stumbling backwards your vision blurs as you try to focus. Your back hits something firm, as familiar warm hands run down your upper arms stopping to cup your elbows. "Detective, are you alright?" It's Connor. "I- I'm going to be sick-"Pushing him away you hurry into the living room. Your breaths shallow you spot the bathroom. Prying at the door with urgency you get through only to be stopped dead in your tracks. The bathroom had android body parts scattered everywhere. Decapitated heads, limbs and innards splayed out and organized in plastic containers. Eyes focusing on the main attraction of the scene; the tub had bodies piled up, faces holding the same expression of terror as one in the living room. But with one key difference. "They're... children." With that announcement you lose it, emptying your own innards into the sink. The room suddenly very hot as you retch. sweaty palm pushing your hair back out of your face. Spitting between gasps you have two familiar bodies behind you. "Oh for fuck sakes!" The lieutenant's standing with his arms crossed, judging you. "Is this what watching over her meant?" Connor looks from Hank back to you. "This is hardly the first time iv'e dealt with a vomiting person." He approaches you placing a soft touch on your back. "pff, very funny Connor. You're a real card." He waves a hand it the air dismissing the situation. "Just take care of it. I don't want chunks in my evidence." With that he exits the bathroom. Leaving the two of you. "Are you okay?" His voice soft and apprehensive. "I'm fine-" *spits* Your eyes closed and brows knit together, embarrassment sets in. "Perhaps some water?" You wipe your mouth with your sleeve. "I'm fine Con-" "Or some fresh air?" you can hear chuckles from the other room. 'They're all laughing at me' "You're pale detective, a doctor should evaluate your condition." 'I'm just a joke..'  He circles to your other side. "Connor.." You try to stop him from speaking but he continues. "I didn't know you would react this way." Gripping the edge of the sink you steady yourself. 'They're still not taking me seriously, not even the android' "Connor I'm-" He grabs your shoulder. "It may be best if I escorted you to the car, Hank might of been right maybe this was too much f-" Turning sharply to him you knock his touch away. "I'm FINE Connor! okay?!" Exasperated you challenge him, despite his higher stature you demand to be heard. Looking up into that synthetic face of his. "That doesn't mean to keep asking!- fuck can't you understand something the first time?" His face is blank taking in your words. Only pushing your frustration further. He opens his mouth to reply but falters. "I-just-.." Lips form more words but none come out. He's stuck, struggling. A mixture of confusion and hurt washing over his features. His gaze going over the white tile flooring. You sigh massaging your eyes. Undoing your jacket you try and cool off. "I do understand- I was just concerned... Sorry for pressuring you." He sounds from behind you. Settling your attention on the small faces starring back at you from the tub. The laughter from outside had died down. You try to focus on the small beings in front of you. They were all missing their clothing. Ignoring the feeling in your stomach a few ideas pop into your head. And you notice Connor still hadn't moved. 'Goddammit'
