Jayfeather led 106 down around other territories borders until they ended up on an uphill path.
"Sure is dark out." 106 meowed, trying and failing to lighten the mood.
"I wouldn't know." Jayfeather snorted sarcastically.
"What do you mean?" 106 inquired, not knowing if he had managed to offend Jayfeather with the first thing he had said all night.
Jayfeather simply stopped and turned to face 106. As 106 looked into he medicine cats eyes he noticed for the first time that these bright blue eyes were glazed and unseeing.
He's blind. 106 thought surprised.
After several more paces in the darkness Jayfeather and 106 were standing outside of a dark cave with a bit of glistening inside that 106 just couldn't properly make out.
"Alright so you will walk in and crouch by the Moonpool. You will drink from the pool and you will immediately fall asleep. You will awaken in StarClans hunting grounds. There each one will give you one of nine lives that will allow you to lead your Clan until your dying day. And remember, you may never speak of the ceremony to anyone." Jayfeather meowed quietly.
106 only nodded nervously as he walked slowly into the cave. He quickly recognized what he was told was the Moonpool. A large pool of water sat rippling slightly in front of him. He could barely tell it was there in the darkness.
Why the Moonpool, it looks nothing like the moon.
It was this moment when he saw a narrow beam of moonlight pierce through a hole in the cave ceiling, causing the water to turn a bright silver, much more moon-like.
Alright, I'm about to become a leader of a Clan. I'm going to speak to some old cats from the sky and get extra lives. I'm ready. He thought.
He bent down and lapped a few drops of the silvery water, so cold it almost stung his tongue. Before he could do anything else he found himself in a mossy clearing. Soon a group of cats stepped into the clearing with him.
"Hello 106." A dark orange tom meowed.
"H-hello." 106 meowed nervously.
Suddenly the orange cat padded up to him.
"I am Firestar, former leader of ThunderClan.
I give you this life for riotousness and the ability to know how to do the best for your Clan and all others." Firestar meowed before putting his nose on 106's head.
106 suddenly had a rush of emotion, almost anger, he suddenly recognized this as the feeling one would feel when needing to defend something furiously. This was accompanied by a wash of furious pain, like all he bones in his body were being broken at once. The pain he would need to feel for his Clan if he ever had to.
The next cat was a blue grey she-cat. She padded up slowly before ever speaking.
"I am Bluestar. Leader of Thunderclan before Firestar. This life is for truth, and to always be true to your word and that of your Clan."
106 found his fur rising as more emotion passed through his body. The guilt and worry he would feel when leading his Clan on his word alone. It almost felt like having his innards crushed by this rush of uneasiness.
The next cat was dark grey, with piercing orange eyes, and her fur was strangely unkept.
"I am Yellowfang. Once a medicine cat for ShadowClan and ThunderClan.
This life is for judgement, and the ability to tell what you and more importantly your Clan must do to survive." With this 106 felt awash with nerve, the feeling he would get while making decisions for the survival of all under his care.
More and more cats approached him, each giving him a new life. By the time he notably only had two more lives to receive, 106 could barely stand, awash with emotions he had never felt, and pain like he had never expected to experience.
Finally a cat he somewhat recognized approached him. A black long haired cat with piercing yellow eyes.
"795?" 106 meowed with a start. "Are you dead, how did you get here?" 106 remembered this cat from the facility, it was the cat known for speaking to humans telepathically, and shapeshifting animals into cats or prey.
"I am not dead, I am simply here to help guide you on your journey. This life is for power to change. To be able to alter any world for the sake of all of the Clans." 795 meowed before placing their nose on his forehead and he began to experience weariness and pain far worse than what he had experienced so far. This was accompanied with a feeling of confidence. All what he would need and experience to guide the Clans with the other leaders.
Finally he saw another cat, and was taken aback as he also recognized this one. It was grey, and walked briskly. She was noticeably female by the appearance of her face, but this was not the problem. This cat did not exist past
the ribs, there was nothing where her hindquarters should be, just empty space.
"Josie?" 106 meowed surprised at seeing scp 529 approaching him.
The half-cat only nodded as she approached him, completely level and upright despite having only her front legs, her midsection not even drooping, as if her hind legs were simply invisible.
"This life is for change. You must learn not to destroy in this world, for the sake of the Clan, all others, and the world from whence you came." With this a strange feeling enveloped 106. He felt ready to vomit by the time he began to hear a voice.
"I hail you by your new name, Manglestar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of TerrorClan. Defend it well; care for young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity." Meowed the voice, which turned out to be, Josie. With this all nine cats began to chant his name in unison.
"Manglestar! Manglestar! Manglestar!" And to the sound of these words, 106, now Manglestar, awoke beside the Moonpool, and stood shaken to return to the Clan that he now officially led.
