I followed Chloe to her house. It was a tiny, old house. When Chloe stood in front of her door she immediately turned around, checking if i was still there. After a short look she turned around again to open the door.

Chloe walked first, I followed her to a big, dark room. The only light came from a little candle on the table.

'So uh, it's proms tonight,' Chloe said.
'Yeah...'

Chloe scans my whole body, her eyes suddenly light up. I don't know if it's because of evilness or happiness, but I felt incredibly awkward and uncomfortable.

'You're, uh,' she points at my attempt to an outfit. 'You're going to prom in this?' She says, ironically.

'Uh, I guess...?' I mumble.
'The hell you aren't,' Chloe says, 'you don't fight demons in this.'

I felt my heart drop on the ground or something. She knew. She knew what was going on. Suddenly I see a flash of when the whole class froze, except her.

'You- do you know about everything?' I asked perplexed.

'You mean your long lost trapped twin sister that you're going to look for her and fight demons after prom? Of course I know. I'm one of you,' Chloe said relaxed.

'What do you mean "one of you"?'

'Children of... them,' Chloe whispered the last word, quickly looking around if no one is spying on us.

'"Them"?' I asked.

Chloe looks around again, scared that someone is about to appear in the doorstep. Chloe leans towards the little light. 'The angels and the demons.'

'Am- am I a child of-' Chloe puts her hands on my mouth, stopping me from finishing my question.

'Yes you are, didn't they tell you?'

'No... but what is my sister then? She is half an angel, right?' I ask.

'Yeah, she is. Half angels are called Nephilim,' Chloe said calmly. Her voice gave me chills.

'But I'm half an angel as well... why didn't they take me?' I asked. I was dizzy, it felt like I needed to vomit.

'You have a bit of demon blood in you. It's not much but it's enough. The demons don't need you if you're something else as well,' Chloe spoke calmly like it's the the most normal thing in earth. 'You're a Nephilim like your sister but your parents protected you with a curse. And that curse... that curse brings demon blood with it.'

'S-so I'm an angel but also a demon?'

'No. You're half angel, half human. The fact that a tiny percentage of you is demonic doesn't make you a demon. You're a Nephilim, just like me,' Chloe said.

'So you're a Nephilim too?' I asked.

'Yeah, I am. There are much more. We're on the side of the angels,' Chloe said.

'What do you mean "side of the angels"?' I repeated.

'There's been a war between the angels and the demons since a few months ago. It's about your sister...' Chloe said sinister. Her voice had a strange tone in it.

'Oh...' is the only thing I could bring out.

'Anyways,' Chloe said like she knew I didn't know what to say anymore, 'you can't go to proms with this... and the demons will probably think you're a hobo or something so uh we're going to change that.'

Chloe grabbed my arm and dragged me upstairs to one of the dark rooms. Chloe found the light and a big room filled with posters and fairy lights showed up from the dark.

'Now let's get a lit outfit for you.'
Chloe looked at me, estimating what would suit me the best. Suddenly she grabs one of the tight skirts from the clothing rack. She holds it in front of me, mumbling something like 'Hmm I don't think so.'

Feathers flew to her bed, staring at the magazines spread over Chloe's bed.

'Since when are you interested in fashion, Feathers?' I said mockingly.

Feathers only glanced at me with an offended look.

Chloe grabbed another piece of clothing out of the rack. It was a mixture of a pair of shorts and a skirt, tight and made of leather, just like Chloe's shorts. The skirt covered one part of the leg and the other part of the leg only showed the shorts.

'Here, try this.' Chloe said, pointing the piece of clothing at me. She turned around so I could try it on. I looked at Feathers with a face that said "bruh" and Feathers acted like he was very interested in the magazines.

I tried it on and as soon as I had it on, it felt like it was made for me. It fitted perfectly and looked amazing. Still unsure about my body I told Chloe she could look again.

'Wow... that fits you so good.' Chloe said. 'Now we only need a bomb top and some accessories.' Chloe said, turning around to her clothing rack again.

Uncomfortable I looked around the big room. My eyes spotted the posters of my favorite bands.

'So... you like bands as well?' I was still shocked Chloe was not the quiet-pink-knitted-sweater-wearing-nerd anymore. Chloe was the girl everyone dreams about. Cool, pretty, fierce and brave.

'Yeah, I love bands,' Chloe said, her head still in the clothes. 'Here.'
Chloe gave me a t-shirt, it was black with red text on it.

'What does it mean?' I ask curiously.

'Non desistas non exieris. It's Latin for "never give up, never surrender". It's our motto,' Chloe said

I put on the shirt. It looks awesome.

Chloe tugs the shirt in my shorts/skirt. She looks at the result. 'Hmmm we need something more...' all of a sudden she grabs a pair of fishnets. 'You need these as well.'

I looked... cool. It's amazing. 'Wow thanks Chloe.'

'No problem, you looked like trash and Nephilims gotta help each other, don't you think?' Chloe said 'You need your hair get done and some make up like, right now,' Chloe pointed at my face.

We're in the bathroom. Chloe's head is close to mine. She puts on a black eyeliner on my eye, very concentrated and precise.
'A wing. Makes your eyes pop out. It stands for the angels as well, right? Wings.'

Satisfied about her result she looks at me.
'You're actually... really pretty.'

Am I?

I looked in the mirror. My own reflected stared back, but I looked... different. Better. The red matte lipstick made my lips look bigger and matched with the red motto on my t-shirt. The black eyeliner and eyeshadow rocked my hazel green eyes.

'I think we're ready to go.'
