"Its time I spread my wings mom, I'm 21" Chelsea explained as she tossed more things into boxes and bags.
"Finish college and then we'll talk about it okay ?" her mother , Kathy , begged.
"Mom , I have one more year after summer break , there's nothing to think about - its time I move. and its with Layla for christs sake."
"Its not who your moving with that I'm concerned with , Layla is like another daughter to me. Its just . . . you've never been without me Chels." Chelsea sat down next to her mom on the bed who was holding one of her stuffed animals she got for a childhood birthday. "Mom , I'm not leaving you forever, I'll be 2 towns over , I'll come visit whenever you want." her mom gave her a smile , then a long hug. "I love you Chelsea."
"I love you too mom ." Kathy wiped her tears and stood up , "welp , this moving truck aint gone pack itself , lets get going."
Chelsea was one of two kids that Kathy had . Their dad had died in a car accident 6 years ago and with her first born , Michael , off doing his construction career Chelsea was the only one left living in the house with Kathy. She knew her daughter had to grow up and leave the nest one day , she just didn't expect it to come so soon. As they were carrying down the last few boxes Layla rolled up in her blue punch buggy with all the windows down and music blasted . Beyoncé damn near filled the entire street, her brother was a mechanic so her stereo system was ridiculous. She got out wearing a blue two piece , tight crop top with no sleeves and tight pants with white stripes down the side , she wore all white Adidas with her hair pulled up in a high bun and big silver earrings. She ran over to Kathy and gave her a big hug. "Hey mooooom!" she screamed as they rocked back and forth. Layla was just getting home from college and had already moved her things into the house on her way to Chelsea. "Hey Chels" she said as she climbed on the truck tossing in boxes. "Hey girl , you ready?" Chelsea asked with a great smile , Layla smirked in her direction. "More than you think girl , this the last of your stuff or its still more upstairs?" They packed everything up and closed the back of the truck. "456 Lucid Lane Tennisville" Layla told the moving truck driver. Chelsea gave her mom the last goodbye hug and kiss and so did Layla. "You girls be safe out there and call me as soon as you get there." Kathy waved goodbye as the girls got in Layla's car and headed to their new place.
When they got there Chelsea was so excited , she couldn't believe that she was finally on her own. No rules , no parents , no restriction , no nothing. Layla's dad had a lot of money being a construction worker so on one of the houses they were suppose to tear down he bought and fixed it up for Layla. It was a 3 bedroom paradise and she wouldn't move in without her bestfriend. "Girl everything is new , EVERYTHING ! my dad paid the movers to get everything inside so all we gotta worry about it putting the shit places."
"Girl - I'm still in shock that this shit is really ours." Layla smiled looking at the house , "Well lets get in there girl." they both excitedly ran up to the porch and inside. "Oh shit" Chelsea said as she looked at all the interior that Layla's dad had put in. The paint was fresh , new wooden floors all over, new plush carpet in the bedrooms , It was like a house off MTV cribs. Chelsea was definitely never gong back home she thought to herself as she walked in and out every room . "SO , ya like ?" Layla asked coming back downstairs, "I love it ! " Chelsea said , they hugged and jumped around. "So lets start putting this shit places." Layla said kicking off her shoes and sliding boxes into the living room .
