"Melanie! If you don't get your ass out if bed in 10 minutes your gonna be late for your first day as a junior!" My older sister Kayllin screamed at me.
"Would you shut up? You don't have to yell so loud, it's only-" I rolled over to check the time.
"Shit." I said to myself, 8:03 a.m.
"Why didn't anyone wake me up?" I yelled. No answer. Great.
I threw on a pair of jeans, converse and my favorite t-shirt that said ' ' '. "Boys are stupid-- throw rocks at them." '
My sister snorted when I walked downstairs into the kitchen. "Nice first impression Mel." she said looking at my shirt.
I ignored her, and my younger brother Kaleb walked in.
"Ready for your first day of high school? Kayllin said.
"Your gonna get the shit beaten out of you." I said shaking my head and laughing.
"Melanie!" Kayllin said shocked.
"What? It's true!" I said wide-eyed looking from her to Kaleb.
Kaleb grinned. "That's okay, I'll just hang out with my older sis."
Kayllin look up from her phone. "Not if you wanna live."
He looked over at me.
"Oh no, no way!" I said getting up.
"Awh come on! Are you gonna let your little brother get beat up?
"Um yea." I said.
Kayllin picked her keys up. "C'mon were all gonna be late if we don't leave now."
"Shotgun!" Kaleb yelled, running towards the car.
"Move it." I said standing at the car with the passenger door open.
"Melanie just get in the car, we're gonna be late." Kayllin said eyes glued to her phone.
I sighed and got in the backseat sitting in the middle.
Kayllin was in her senior year. She worked hard and always got straight A's while managing to go to all the parties and keeping up with the latest gossip. With her blonde hair and light green eyes she was the girl everyone wanted to be. But she wasn't a stuck up bitch like a lot of the other girls. Maybe it had to do with our parents.
And Kaleb. Kaleb was the youngest. He has blonde wavy hair and green eyes, just like Kayllin- and me, we all look a lot alike. He was always wearing a hat which caused his hair to get the stupid wings that all the girls loved. Kaleb was smart but he learned easily and got bored in class so he often got in trouble. He even got a letter saying he was accepted to go to a gifted school but he refused to go.
And then theres me. Blonde hair and green eyes just like my siblings. I was a lot different from them. I tried to keep the attention away from me. I used to be like Kayllin but then the thing with my parents happened and it was like I dropped off the face of the earth and when grade nine came I was a completely different person.
"You two better run, the bells gonna ring any second." Kayllin said already hurrying off.
"Mel I have no idea where to go." Kaleb said standing, looking at me.
"Not my problem, didn't you go to the meeting they had for all the grade nine's? You know the one so you wouldn't get lost." I said rolling my eyes digging out my iPod.
"Uh yea about that..." Kaleb said laughing nervously.
I rolled my eyes. "Follow me."
"Late on the first day. Better not happen again. " Mr. Penny said not looking up from his desk.
