•Chapter 2•
I gasped waking up. Shivering I picked my blankets up off the floor. 6:12 a.m. my clock read.
I groaned. Might as well get ready now. I thought to myself, getting in the shower.
I took my time in the shower and by the time I got and dryer my hair and put on some mascara and eyeliner it was already 7:15.
I walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel.
"Why are you up so early?" Kaleb said coming out of his room.
"I've been up earlier!" I said sticking my tongue out at him.
"When?" he challenged.
"Remember that time in grade 8? When I went to Quebec?"
Kaleb nodded.
"I had to wake up at 5:30!" I said.
"Ya that was forced and it took mom half an hour to get you up. Even after Kayllin dumped a glass of ice cold water over you." he said going into the bathroom.
I stuck my tongue out at him again.
What to wear, What to wear?
I haven't asked myself that question in years. I mean I wasn't completely useless when it came to fashion I just chose not to 'embrace it' as much as other girls did.
I chose a jean skirt, one I had never worn and I was surprised to see it still fit me.
I dug threw my closet looking for one of my other favorite shirts.
"Kayllin did you take my white shirt? The one with the birds?" I yelled.
"It's in the dryer!" she called back.
I pulled it out of the dryer. It was more of a light creme and had two faded birds on it, one green and the other pink. Above them it said 'Peace' in handwriting.
I threw on a pair of leggings and my black and white checkered vans.
I took a look at the clock. 8:00.
Wow that was the longest I ever took to get dressed.
I walked into the kitchen and Kaleb gaped at me.
"Dude, you look like a girl."
I rolled my eyes. "Gee thanks."
"Can we go to Tim Hortons?" I yelled up to Kayllin.
"Ya as long as your ready." she said coming downstairs.
"Nice skirt." Kayllin said.
"Okay 3 things." I said. "One, shotgun. Two, we're picking up Jasmin before we go to Timmys. And three, I've worn a skirt before, why are you all so surprised?" I said hands on my hips.
"Could it possibly be because you haven't worn one in three years?" Kaleb said. "Do you think she would let me take a picture?" he said looking over at Kayllin.
"Shut up." I said smacking his phone out of his hand.
"Hey." Jasmin said getting in the back seat.
"Hi." we all said to her.
"You two better hurry up in there." Kayllin said as we got out of the car.
"Get me a cookie!" Kaleb yelled.
"So what's with the skirt, last time I saw you wearing one was your 13th birthday." Jasmin said as we were waiting in line.
"I think she looks very nice." A voice behind us said.
