At the age of 18 he was able to establish several branches of his restaurant, Avenue 46, and worked on his branches in China and Los Angeles until he turned 20. He is a cold, young man who cares only about his restaurant.

Eunseo (20) is a young girl who believes that she needs to finish her studies to achieve her dreams. However, her family wasn't very well-off and could not send her to a good university after her mother got sick. She landed a job at Avenue 46 over the summer and now her life is wrapped around Kim Mingyu's finger.

Seokmin (21) is Mingyu's close friend whom he met at culinary school. Seokmin is called Chef Lee in the restaurant, and is one of the friendliest employees. He helped Mingyu in building up the Avenue and was appointed Head Chef of the main branch in Seoul.
