It only took us a couple of hours to get to the town where the case was.
I still didn't know anything about the case, Sam and Dean haven't told me anything at all and it was starting to get on my nerves.
Finally, we pulled into a local motel and Sam got us a room. We found the room and brought our stuff in and set it down. Taking a moment to look around the room, I realized that it wasn't the nicest place.
There were two beds with a nightstand in between them. There was a small dinky lamp on the stand, but it provided a decent amount of light. There was also a small couch pointed towards a box tv on a dresser. The dresser looked like it would fall apart any second and there was an equally crappy one sitting a few feet from it. There was also a table with two chairs, which was probably the nicest thing in the room. The paint on the walls was chipping and there were different stains on the carpet. The last thing that I noticed was a door which probably led into a bathroom.
The brothers had already started to unpack what they needed as I examined the room. They probably don't even care.
Realizing that I would have to ask to find out anything about this case, I set my hands on my hips and sighed.
"Okay, listen here guys. If you actually want me to help and not be in your way, I'm gonna need to know what we're dealing with. So, stop with the little brother telepathy and let me know what's going on, Okay?"
So...maybe I was a little frustrated.
Okay, a lot.
They froze in the middle of what they were doing and just kind of stared at me for a second. They continued moving, though slower then they had been and set the items that they had in their hands down onto the table. I could see Sam swallow awkwardly as he tried to figure out what to say. Finally, he turned to me.
"You're right, Sky. I'm sorry."
Dean stood there doing nothing, but Sam cleared his throat. If they had been standing next to each other I bet Sam would have elbowed him. Dean suddenly turned to me as well.
"Y-yeah. I'm sorry. We should have told you."
I nodded and sighed, walking over to the table and started to help them unpack. As we did so, they filled me in.
A bunch of people, which we believed to be demons, had burned down a house. There was an entire family inside. A father and a mother with two children, one eight-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl. The mother had also just announced a week ago that she was pregnant again.
It was pretty late, everyone would be at home by now, so we were going to wait until tomorrow to go investigate.
Even though I couldn't shake my sorrow for the poor family, I grabbed my pajamas out of my suitcase and went into the bathroom to change.
I came out only to be faced with the dilemma of where to sleep. However, before I had the chance to say anything Sam did.
"I'll take the couch. Sky you can have the bed."
I immediately looked at the couch and shook my head. It was half of his size! Even the bed wouldn't be long enough but it was better.
"No, I'll take the couch, it'll be easier for me to sleep on the couch than it will be for you."
I could see the hesitation in Sam's eyes, but he was about to decline and make me take the bed. Before he could speak, I did.
"Look, why don't we both take the bed? I don't mind sharing."
He looked at me a little shocked and I felt a blush rise up to my cheeks. My gaze fell to the floor.
"I mean, i-if you're okay with that."
I saw the mental battle that Sam was having with himself but he eventually nodded and climbed into the bed. Dean had already crashed a while ago.
I turned out the one lamp that was left and crawled into the covers next to Sam. He was already asleep. They must still be tired from their last hunt.
Moving around gently until I was comfortable, I finally laid my head down and tried to sleep.
