The monster lunged at her, and she woke up, breathing heavily.

"Eww!" Lavender exclaimed. She was in a puddle of sweat, and was still sweating. Groaning she hit the 'snooze' button on her alarm clock and went into her bathroom to take a shower. After her shower she got dressed in her school uniform. (Which was a Japanese sailor uniform) She put on a red headband, and her ice blue glasses, and waited for Indigo to wake up and get dressed, before they left.

Getting in her car she turned the key and drove off, she picked up Isabella and they drove to school.

"So are you going to the dance?"

(I know, no school has ever had a new school year dance, but for this story it's necessary.)

"Bella, the dance is 4 days away; plus I don't dance."

Lavender dropped off her sister on the elementary campus and waved goodbye.

"This is our first day of high school; we need to have a good attitude, and don't fan girl over Michael. That way you'll stand out the most." Isabella said happily.

"I don't want to stand out," Lavender responded as she parked her car. "I want to fit in." Turning off the car she got out, Isabella behind her. "Why do you act like Michael's famous person in the world?"

"Well, if you've been in 3 movies I think that makes you famous."

"I don't know, he only had the lead in the last one and the second one it went to different scenarios. The first time he was a background character and had maybe 5 lines."

Bella led the way to the office, but Lavender lagged behind, deep in thought.

'New school, New year, don't use your powers unless it's absolutely necessary.' She thought to herself, 'As long as you don't embarrass yourself today, everything will be-,'

"Ahh!" she screamed, falling onto the floor, her glasses flew off of her face, and onto the ground. "Oh my goodness, I am so so so, sor-,"

"It's okay Lavender." Someone, a male, said, handing Lavender her glasses.

'I didn't... please tell me I didn't.'

She looked up, right into the brown eyes of Michael Stevens.

"I'm so sorry Michael, I wasn't paying attention."

"I wasn't either, so it's partially my fault too, and you can call me Mike."

"Huh?"

"Well everyone from elementary school did, so why not you?"

Lavender stared at him speechless.

"You are Lavender Brown, right, the quiet one that was in all of my classes since kindergarten."

She nodded shyly; very thankful no one could see the blush creeping upon her cheeks.

"Okay, bye Lavender." Michael jogged off.

"You know Michael Stevens?!" Joy Fredrickson asked her.

"Um, yeah, I've known him since kindergarten."

"You're bluffing!" Raquel Martin declared, "You just want popularity."

"Who do you think you are saying that to my best friend?!" Isabella yelled from down the hall. "She has never lied in her life, unlike you." She sniffed the air. " I think you better leave," she told Raquel, "I can't breathe because of your stank attitude, and your ego is filling up this whole school so, I can't get to class." The crowd 'oohed.'
