Why would you do that?

A week later...
Bella: Ryder!
Zuma: What do you need?
Bella: Zuma I am calling Ryder.
Zuma: Oh ok
Bella: Ryder!!!
Ryder: Yes
Bella: When are we having breakfast?
Ryder: Right now
Ryder pours Bella a bowl of food. He gives it to her.
Bella: Thanks Ryder
Ryder: No problem. Hey Zuma, don't you want to eat? You have barely eaten since Bella got back from Katie's.
Zuma: I'm good.
Ryder: Ok just please eat something today.
Zuma: Ok
Ryder walks away.
Bella: Zuma
Zuma: Yes
Bella: You need to eat. Here have some of mine.
Zuma: No you need that more than I do. Your injured. You need the strength.
Bella: It has been a week since what happened. You barely eat. It isn't healthy for you.
Zuma: But if I take my eyes off of you, what's if they come?
Bella: Who?
Zuma: Rocket and Diamond
Bella: Is that what this is about?
Zuma: I just don't want them to come back while I'm not looking and take you.
Bella: Sweetie they won't take me
Zuma: How do you know that?
Bella: Our friends are here to protect us. We protect each other no matter what happens.
Zuma: But what's if we can't protect each other?
Bella: Why would you say that?
Zuma: Because it's true! Things happen, Bella. Life is all about pain. I couldn't protect you from Diamond. I couldn't protect the others.
Bella: Sweetie that is all in the past. You have the choice to change. You have the choice to change your life.
Zuma: But what's if I can't make the right choice?
Bella: Then I will be here for you.
Rocky walks towards them.
Rocky: Hey guys
Bella: Hi Rocky
Rocky: How is Zuma?
Bella: Not so good. He still barely eats and he is exhausted.
Rocky: Oh no. Zuma you need to rest.
Zuma: No I don't.
Rocky: Come on Bella.
Rocky grabs her paw to take her away from Zuma. Zuma immediately got angry.
Zuma: What do you think you are doing?
Rocky: Taking Bella away from you. You can't protect her when you are weak.
Zuma: Grrr
Zuma lunged at Rocky. He bit Rocky's leg.
Rocky: Oww
Bella: Zuma how could you?
Zuma: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to.
Bella: Come on Rocky. Let's fix you up.
Bella takes Rocky inside to tell the others. Zuma follows behind. The only ones there were Chase, Skye, and Rubble.
Bella: Guys we have a problem
Skye noticed Rocky limping.
Skye: What happened!?
Bella: Zuma bit him for pulling me away.
Zuma: Guys I didn't mean to. You have to listen to me.
Chase: Zuma, why would you do that?
Zuma: I...
Zuma starts to feel dizzy. He collapses on the ground.
Bella: Zuma!
Chase rushes to Zuma's side. He checks his pulse to see if he was still breathing.
Bella: Is he ok?
Chase: Yea he is fine. Since he didn't sleep for a week, it just hit him. I suspect he will be asleep for a while.
Bella: That's good.
Chase: Just leave him here. If we try to move him, we might wake him.
Bella: Ok. Let's just make sure Rocky is okay.
Rocky: I'm fine, Bella.
Bella: We need Marshall to fix up Rocky.
Chase: Marshall!
Marshall enters the room with a "what's wrong" face.
Chase: Rocky is injured. We need your help.
Marshall: Ok what happened?
Bella: Zuma bit his leg but not on purpose, of course.
Marshall: This is why we told him to rest. If you don't get enough sleep, you start to become paranoid and a little crazy. Was there anything that triggered Zuma to bite Rocky?
Bella: Well Rocky did pull me away from Zuma. Zuma was to weak to protect me so Rocky dragged me away.
Marshall: That probably did it. Where is he now?
Bella: Sleeping over next to the food bowls. He just fell asleep.
Marshall finished bandaging Rocky after a couple of minutes.
Marshall: Now you need to rest.
Rocky: Alright
Rocky walks back to his puphouse. Bella follows him.
Rocky: Bella? What are you doing here?
Bella: I am here to take care of you while you are injured.
Rocky: You really don't have to do this. I can handle this myself.
Bella: True but you will need to get up a lot. But you can't put pressure on that leg. I insist.
Rocky: Ok just don't get mad at me when Zuma gets mad at us.
Bella: Why would he get mad?
Rocky: Well if your helping me he might, you know, get jealous.
Bella: I never thought Zuma was the type of pup to get jealous? I'm sure it will be fine. I'm sure Zuma will be very understanding about this.

Yay! The first chapter is done. I am so glad I finished it. Even though there are three parts, the first one will always be my favorite. I really hope you guys enjoy this chapter. I had some issues publishing this one. But it finally worked. See ya guys! Bye!!!
