What's the plan?"
We had spent the past week coming up with the best way to celebrate Alison's birthday. We had brainstormed ideas together and had finally come up with a plan. Nate probably had not been paying attention. How then did he contribute, I wondered.
I looked up from my phone at his figure, leaning on the fridge. I noticed the classic signature smile he usually had on when he was trying to be annoying. Pressing my tongue against my cheek, I turned my attention back to my phone and said, "I actually don't trust that you'll remember the plan so I'll say it again."
I got up, walked towards him and nudged him away from the fridge. He chuckled as I began pouring myself some mango juice at the kitchen counter.
"The plan, doofus, is a dinner at Alison's favourite restaurant and then a short trip to a resort for the weekend. The trip is a surprise so maybe don't go telling her about it, yeah?"
"What do you take me for?" He said as he rolled his eyes.
" I am doing all the planning. You just need to handle the invites"
It was finally Friday and I was probably more excited than Alison. I was really proud of my planning. The reservation for dinner was booked and I had rented two cars to pick us up from the restaurant. Everything was also set at the resort. The only thing left was to pack a bag for Alison and i couldn't do that while she was still in the apartment. She might notice some of her things missing.
"S?"
"Sage, you home?" I hear Alison calling for me from the sitting room.
I quickly shove the suit case I was packing for myself into my closet and come out to meet her.
"Right here" I said and made my way to the couch, slumping beside her.
"I hope you don't have any plans before my dinner" she says.
"And what if I do?" I roll my eyes and she sighed.
"Who's going to help me get ready for it?" she whines.
"You don't need me. You've got Jason"
"But..."
"Yes?"
"Okay, I'm sorry I haven't been spending much time with you. I'll be a better friend, I promise" she replies and tries to hug me.
"ew, get off me" I laugh.
" I got you something..." I tell her as i jump off the couch and rush into my room.
I came back out with two bags. Alison turns around when she hears walking towards her. she just sits looking at me with a wide grin. Almost like a little kid sitting at the christmas tree on christmas morning waiting to open presents.
"It's not that exciting" i tell her, "I went out for some retail therapy with Nate and I got you something to wear to your dinner."
"Aw, thank you S!"
She gets up and hugs me again and I hand her the bags and she takes out the item from the first bag. I bought her a white one shoulder body hugging dress with a twisted ruffles slit hem. The second bag contained gold lace up satin sandal stilettos. She quickly goes to try them on and they are a perfect fit.

Clink, Clink.
"Guys" Ali said as she stood up with her wine glass in hand. She had the most vibrant smile plastered on her face as she waited for everyone at the table to pay attention to her. We were seated at a private section of Ali's favourite restaurant.
