I woke up with a pounding head ache, and a fogey memory of last night. I remember the majority of what happened, but it was I little hazy at certain points in my mind. I sat up and looked around, Sydney was passed out on the bunk next to mine, she was halfway off the bed, and her hair was all over her face.
I got out of bed and walked over to my bag, pulling out a bottle of Tylenol and something to wear for that day. I walked into the bathroom, and stepped into the shower, washing off the dirt that had accumulated on my body from my swim last night.
When I was done I put on my bikini and then clothes over it. Every councilor was in charge of two activities, and mine were field hockey, and swimming. I put my hair up to a top knot, then covered it with my hat, placing my whistle around my neck, I walked out of the bathroom.
Sydney was awake and changed, and the girls had started streaming into the cabin. "Good morning campers, how was the camp out?"
"It was good, but not as good as when we-" Sabrina started, then Celia covered her mouth.
"Shut up Sabrina!" She yelled, and smiled nervously at me.
"What did you guys do?" I said, knowing how much trouble I got into when I was their age.
"Nothing." Grace said. I knew my target, and which one would crack first.
"Millie, what did you guys do." I narrowed my eyes to scrutinize her.
She started shaking, "Millie don't you dare say anything!" Celia said. I continued my gaze.o
"We sunk out and watched you guys last night!" She burst out. I turned to look at Sydney, and we both started bursting out laughing, which earned us several looks from the girls.
"What?" They all asked.
"We thought you guys did something really bad!" I said between fits of laughter.
"We did so much worse when we were your age!" Syd said laughing.
They rolled their eyes and we all walked up to the main house for breakfast. Arriving we found the cabin nine table and sat down, picking at the trays of food in the middle. Pancakes with fruit, kind of hard to mess up. Sydney and I started to talk about our school year. She told me that she went to Disney over the summer and road every ride in the park. That made me sick, seeing as im extremely motion sick.
"Alright campers!" Called a firm voice over a bull horn. Looking up there was a stout middle aged woman, with a Camp Apex tee shirt on, "Today is the first day, you can go freely from place to place, visiting the varying stations, so have fun and don't do anything stupid."
"That's going to be hard." I whispered to the table, causing them to erupt in giggles.
Ms. McDory shot a look at our table, but I wasn't afraid of her, Id been in worse trouble. We broke away and I went to swimming, that was my first shift. Walking down to the beach, I removed my clothes so I was just in my bikini. A couple passing by sixteen year old's whistled, and joined my station. Thirsty little hoes. When I had a sufficient number of kids I started doing swimming tests. It was very boring.
At one point I was bending down to help a little five year old swim, and I heard a whistle from behind me. I turned expecting one of the sixteen year old's, but saw Taylor, paddling past in a canoe. I rolled my eyes and turned around.
"Piss off Taylor!" I yelled, not turning to face him.
"Maybe I will Carleigh!"
"Get back to work you two!" I heard a voice from the beach, looking up Nate was standing with a group of kids and a bull horn. I shook my head and went back to helping the six year old's tread water. It was boring work, and I forgot sun screen, so I was going to be red as a tomato tomorrow.
