Kaito was in the kitchen, putting poptarts in a toaster. Maki slowly walked into the kitchen, going immediately to the coffee machine to fill it with water.
"You're up early." She pointed out. Kaito chuckled and walked over to her. "I gotta get to work early for a meeting." He kissed her on the forehead and turned around, only for her to grab his wrist. "Wait." She put her hand on his chin, running her fingers along it. "You're growing a slight stubble."
"Yeah, I know. I was going to shave this morning.
"You look kinda good with it, you know? It sorta suits you." She put her hand down and let go of his wrist, getting the part of the coffee machine that held water.
"Aww...you really think so, Maki Roll~?"
"I just said so, Mr. Momota." She smiled lightly as she filled the pot with water.
"Ew." Said a monotone yet tired sounding voice. A girl with long, dark hair entered the kitchen, jumping onto the countertop and sitting on it. She kicked her feet, her different colored eyes staring at them.
"Ah...morning, Koroshoma." Maki greeted her daughter.
"Morning, Mom."
"Heya, Shoma!" Kaito exclaimed, going over to her and ruffling her hair.
"Dad, I asked you to stop calling me that."
"Hm? Why though? It's cute!" He smiled at her and walked back over to the toaster. "Poptarts?"
"No, it's not. And of course I don't want poptarts."
"It was worth a shot." He chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. Suddenly, a loud clicking of heels were heard down the hall. A girl with long, sparkly purple hair slid into the kitchen.
"The Mistress Of The Stars has arrived!" The girl exclaimed.
"Morning, Andromeda." Maki said, getting two mugs out the cabinet.
"Morning, Mom!" She skipped over to her and planted a kiss on her cheek. "Hey, Dad, poptarts?"
"Morning, Meda! And yeah, I've got poptarts for yah! Their just about ready." Kaito responded to Andromeda.
"Cool cool!" She skipped over to Kaito and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Thanks!"
"Heh, no problem."
"Mom, can I just get some coffee?" Koroshoma asked.
"Already on it." She said as the coffee was already being brewed.
Andromeda went over to the kitchen table, sitting down at a seat. "So, sis, mom said I could drive us to school today." She said with a smile. Koroshoma's eyes widened at this news.
"Mom...do you want me to die...?" She said slowly. Maki chuckled lightly. "You'll be fine. Besides, I'll be there to supervise."
"Yeah! I'm not *that* bad of a driver."
"Andromeda, you almost ran over a mailbox."
"B-but it was that one time!"
"Half of the car shouldn't be on the sidewalk."
"But—!"
"She had a point, you know." Maki saod softly, pouring coffee into a mug. "And that's why I'll be there to supervise."
"Sometimes, I wonder how you even got a permit." Koroshoma said, rolling her eyes playfully. "Probably through the privileges and connections Dad has or something."
"Ok, ok...that's not true." Kaito responded to Koroshoma, getting out two plates. "She earned it on her own."
"After 100 tries of course."
"Daaaaaddddd!! She keeps picking on me!" Andromeda whined.
"Alright, that's enough, Koroshoma." Kaito said sternly, putting two poptarts on each plate.
"I was just joking...geez." Koroshoma sighed and hopped off the counter, walking over to Maki and laying her head on her shoulder. Maki smiled lightly and handed her a cup of coffee. "Black. Just how like it."
"Black like my soul." She saif before taking a sip of it.
"Shoma—"
"I'm kidding, Dad. I don't have one." She continued to drink more coffee. Maki giggled, blowing the surface of her coffee lightly. "That's my daughter." She said quietly.
"Oh shit- I'm gonna be late." Kaito gave Andromeda her plate and put his own poptarts on a napkin. Andromeda took the plate happily. "One dollar in the swear jar, Dad!" She exclaimed before biting into the pastry.
"I swear this is how you get rich off me." Kaito replied with a chuckle. He grabbed his keys and jacket. "I'll see you girls later." He gave Andromeda and Koroshoma a quick kiss on the cheek then giving Maki a peck on the lips. He waved then headed out the front door.
"Gotta eat quickly so I can do my make-up~!" Andromeda said after Kaito left.
"You only said that cause Dad left." Koroshoma pointed out.
"I know, I know. He doesn't want me to look too grown or whatever."
"Don't worry, Andromeda. I talked to your Dad about letting you grow up." Maki said, soon finishing her coffee. "I'm gonna grab my things and start the car. Be ready in 10." She rinsed out her mug and put it in the sink, walking out the kitchen.
"Man, Mom's the best!" The starry eyed girl quickly finished her poptarts, wiping her mouth with a napkin. "Can't wait to drive us to school, sis!"
"Yay me..." She said sarcastically, sipping the last of her coffee. "Gotta tame the Hell that is my hair. Peace." Koroshoma exited the kitchen. Andromeda took her plate to the sink, rinsing it off. Man, today is gonna be a greay day! She thought. She the ran up the stairs to go pamper her face.
