when i walked inside Madison's house, i saw Ethan sitting on the couch. he looked at me, and for the first time in forever, i was actually thinking about us.

i cleared my throat and looked at him right in the eye. "is your sister here?"

he stood up and got closer to me. "no, she went out with the girls."

before turning to go upstairs to her bedroom, Ethan grabbed my arm.

"we need to talk."

last time i had heard those words were the last time we spoke.

until now.

i could feel the tears making their way into my eyes.

i didn't hold it back.

i let one tear fall. then another.

quietly, i spoke, "you hurt me. you broke me. you made me feel worthless."

he sighed and when he looked at me, i could see the hurt in his eyes.

"im sorry."

i looked at him. Him? Sorry?

"what?" i choked on the tears i was trying to hold back.

"im sorry. it was fucked up. i messed up. i was probably the worst boyfriend in the world." i saw a tear fall from his eyes. "and for that, im sorry. sorry for making you feel you weren't good enough."

i don't know why i did what i did next, but i grabbed him by his face and brought his lips to mine. i shouldn't have done it, but it was an instinct.

he pushed me towards the wall and i wrapped my legs around him. he put his hand up behind my shirt, trying to unclip my bra when we heard someone walk in.

"you forgot your-"

it was Daniel.

and ill never forget the look on his face when he saw what i had done.
