Hey Edie,
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I really don't think it's fair that I should work a clopen on my first two days back from college. (A clopen is when you close the restaurant one day, and then have to be there to open it the next morning. I don't know if that's a normal word, that's just what we call it. Anyway, it sucks, because I barely had enough time to get home and sleep. I had to take my run after my shift.)
So that's how my summer vacation is going so far. But I knew I'd be working the whole time. I have to earn that mad money!
My mom is doing awesome and she says you're sweet for asking. There's a new man in her life ;). I haven't met him, but she actually curled her hair for a date, so she must like him.
How are your brother and sister? They're probably still in school, right? High school summer break starts a lot later.
Nothing from Professor Lal yet, but I'd be shocked if she wanted to talk to us so early. They still have lots of time to try different things, screw up, and give up. Of course I hope they don't give up.
I'll have time to go to the library tomorrow. Give me a book recommendation. Something that won't use my brain too much—I want a real break!
All my love,
Corrie
