Hey Corrie,
I got the job! That was so fast, I don't even know if it's the right thing to do. I mean, I obviously, as you know perfectly well, didn't expect to get any job this quickly, let alone such a good one. My mom says it's because I'm such a hard worker and I've been very diligent about sending out resumes, but... I haven't, really. Not that I've admitted that to her. I just got lucky.
They're not offering as high a salary as I hoped for, but after that interview, I think it's worth it. There will be plenty of opportunities for advancement—meaning more money—and it seems like I'll fit in really well with the culture. Which is weird to say. I never thought I'd fit in anywhere other than the pack and Chatoyant College.
I bet you never thought you'd see me working in corporate America, huh?
I start next Monday. My mom gave me some money to buy nice clothes for the job (I have a nice suit for the interviews, but hell if I'm going to wear that heavy thing to the office). I thought I might drive up to the city for my shopping and meet you there. What do you say? You could go shopping with me, if you think that would be fun, or just meet up afterward.
Don't worry. I can go shopping for myself and don't need you to tell me what looks good and is suitable for the job. I know you're not that kind of girl!
