Janet's POV
I came home late just to find Andrew snoring his ass off.
How amazing!
I rolled my eyes and picked up the mess that he'd made. We both moved in together after leaving our neighbourhood and joined the same college but opted for different courses. He was in a very bad position and so was I when we left New Orleans. It was a really traumatic time.
I removed my clothes and went to get fresh. After a while, I got out and started preparing for dinner. Suddenly, I realized Andrew hugging me from behind.
"Hey.... Did you sleep well?"
"Sorta".
"Okay. I'm making ourselves dinner. What would you like to eat?".
"You ask me the same question every day and I give you the same answer".
Right. I always asked him and he always replied with "cook whatever you want"
"Fine. I'm preparing chicken stew ".
"Sounds good. What am I supposed to do?"
He released his grip from my waist and went on to search for his apron.
"Cut the vegetables for me".
"Okay".
After half an hour, he plated everything on the table. We made some salad, chicken stew and rice. We occasionally cook food, since I don't like to eat outside food. But during the exams, we order outside.
We finished with our dinner and he washed the plates while I prepared the bed for us to sleep.
I knew something was bothering him and he wasn't being open about it.
I got into my comfortable clothes and waited for him to come to bed.
He entered the room and stripped of his clothes leaving only his boxers since it was getting warm in New York.
"I know you're hiding something. So you better spill the beans ".
He sighed because he'd been aware of the fact that he couldn't hide anything from me.
"Travis called me today".
I was surprised. Me and Travis became friends because of Alexa even though me and him were classmates since our junior school. After that incident, we lost touch.
"He got an e-mail from Sasha which was an invitation for all of us to gather for Alex's first death anniversary". He said in a numb voice.
I didn't know what to say..... It was too much information. Me and Alexa became best friends in our senior year. People thought her to be a bad ass bitch, but in all honesty, she was a child at heart. I miss her a lot. I knew that Andrew loved her secretly. I loved Andrew back then and still do, but there was no bad blood between me and Alexa. Andrew and Travis became the worst enemies since her death and he blames Travis for her death. But I think otherwise.
"Janet!"
"Yeah?". I came back from my memories.
"I was asking you something ".
"What were you asking?".
"Will you come?"
"Is that even a question? Of course I will! She was my best friend!"
"Okay then.... I'll book the tickets for our flight".
"Okay. Do let me know if you need money".
"Okay. I'm feeling sleepy. Good night, babe". He kissed on my forehead and lips. I kissed him back.
"Good night!".
And he dozed off. But I was awake.... with two thoughts in my head.... the letter.... And Margaret.
