Talia's POV

After school, I walked home normally like I always do but I noticed something was different. There was a black Range Rover trailing slowly behind me with windows tinted dark enough that you couldn't see inside. Maybe they were checking out the neighborhood?

While I was too distracted by the car, I didn't notice a crack along the sidewalk so I tripped and fell. As I laid on the ground in pain, the driver of the Range Rover jumped out the vehicle and to my aid.

"Are you okay, sweetheart?" he asked softly. I quickly nodded and studied his features. He had brown hair with a couple of blonde streaks styled into a quiff with brown eyes and a little mustache growing.

"Sweetheart." He snapped his fingers in front of my face to get me out of my daze. "You're zoning out on me here," he laughed softly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," I whispered while blushing.

"It's okay. How about we get you home?" He asked as he got up and picked me up bridal style.

"I can walk you know," I muttered.

"I know," he shrugged "I just wanted to carry you" he says like it's no big deal.

"Okay?" I replied unconvinced.

When he pulled in my driveway, I quickly limped up the driveway, but not before he leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Bye, sweetheart" he said adoringly.

"Bye stranger," I muttered.

As soon as I walked in my house, I put an ice pack on my ankle. I turned the television on just to flick through the channels finding nothing interesting to watch.

That guy from earlier keeps crossing my mind. He seemed like he cared genuinely about me, but we don't even know each other. Maybe he was being nice?

I turned off the lights and limped upstairs to do my homework still thinking about that guy. I scolded myself because I would never see him again, right? That's what I thought.

But as they say

Things aren't what they seem.

Little did I know, that stranger was going to change my life forever.
