"There you are you two. We need to talk about feeding habits and there is something else I've noticed I wish to discuss." Said Carlisle.

"Yeah?" Asked Stiles taking a seat by Elijah.

"Well it has been brought to my attention that only drinking from animals isn't healthy and is impacting on our minds. Nicklaus brought it up that our logic of more animal lives for less of their suffering is inefficient for keeping their numbers up and causing us problems. So, with your consent then from now on you will not kill your prey before you drink, paralyse them instead and drink from them till their hearts stop to get the most energy. And I am afraid that trying to control their minds to remove the pain that way would drain out more energy than you think and just cause you to have to take more lives, so it's best to only take a little bit of it away not all of it. The exception is always humans. We won't kill them, at least not the innocent ones, so if you take some of their blood I need you to modify their memories, their blood is richer, so more rewarding and it won't hurt the energy you have gained by doing so. We will all need to start drinking some. By now even a newly turned Stiles will have noticed that his mind is starting to get foggy, it's hard to think when hungry or hunting. That is due to a lack of proteins we can only get from humans. Because we were turned from them and into us they produce proteins specific to their species in their blood that we need to keep parts of our body running properly, and we have been starving our selves from that. The minimum is a pint of human blood a week. If you consume more animal that human blood on average that your eyes will stay somewhat gold. So, what do you all say? Are you up for this change?"

They had all been listening to him talk with a quiet awe, a few people looked at Nicklaus when he was mentioned but once Carlisle had finished talking there was silence while they all weighed it up.

"Okay." Stiles was the first to speak up. "I noticed the deterioration just now, and to be honest what you're saying makes more sense. The animals will suffer more but more lives will be spared, and I am sure that people in Beacon Hills can spare one pint of blood for us per week, it's not asking much."

"I agree." Said Noah, "You both make sense and if this doesn't work we can always go back to how it was before."

"I'm in." Edward said.

"Me to." Said Alice

Jasper gave them a nod and a smile.

"Sounds like a plan." said Rosalie.

"I am so not being left out." Emmet exclaimed, causing everyone to laugh.

"You already know I agree." Esme was that last to agree.

"Nice!" Said Rebecca "We can set it up so that when we have some to spare we will send blood bags over but don't rely on that."

"Okay next subject for discussion, who else has seen the orange clay?" Carlisle inquired lightly but they could tell he was worried. He was the head of this clan, Stiles dad being his second, and he had seen almost everything by now so if this was new to him it didn't mean anything good.

"Yeah I have."

"Me too."

"And me."

"What do you think it is?" Asked Jasper.

"I don't know, Noah?" Carlisle asked.

"I haven't got any ideas either. But the trail looked like something was taking steps but dragging its feet as it went. And the new stuff doesn't have as much clay on the ground. So I suspect it didn't know how to walk properly or that was its first time walking."

"I examined the clay earlier, I couldn't find any smells in it so it's new, fresh. It also has an incredibly smooth texture so it can't be that old." Stiles added.
