It's been two months since Henry and mum started going out and she has never been the same. Now her smiles are more genuine. She slept more. She was always happy to go to her store even on Sunday, I became happy that mum was back.

Ever since my Dad died she kept to herself. She stopped going out, seeing her friends. She quit Church too.

There was a time she wanted to close down the store. I had to call my Granny to come talk to mum. After so much persuasion, mum gave in to leave the store but that didn't change her.

Though she still kept to herself. I was happy that she wasn't always at home crying and stuffing her mouth with Snickers. Yes mum had a habit of eating chocolate while crying. I was eating lunch with June and a boy from the lacrosse team when I got a message from mum saying she had great news. I was happy and wondered what the great news was and I couldn't think of anything. So I decided to leave it till I got home. I finished my lunch and went to take a walk to the garden. I noticed I do that a lot but I can't complain. I do love the fresh air on my cheek and the feel of damp grass. I was lost in my thought when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I lifted my face to meet Nate Frenchman the school's bully. I made sure to always avoid him and never cross path with him. I thought of why he was here, I looked around and noticed I was Alone. That's why he came to me, I began to panic. Don't get me wrong I wasn't scared. I could take him if I wanted to but After Dad died, I promised mum I wouldn't get into trouble. So if Nate decides to beat me and I fight back I will get into trouble and mum wont be happy. I was still thinking of what to do when I felt a Sharp pain on my stomach. Nate hit me. I was clutching to my stomach and I heard him say "hey am talking to you. You deaf or something".

The bell rang and he let go of my shirt and told me we had unfinished business at the end of school. He left. I was still holding my stomach when Daisy came to the garden. She said she and June have been looking for me. She noticed I was in pain, she asked me what happened but I just waved her off that it was nothing.

The rest of school was slow and my mind wandered to what happened in the garden. I decided to go home alone to avoid Nate. The final bell rang and I was the first to leave the hall. I was almost out of school when I heard my best friends calling me. I wanted to keep running but I stopped and they caught up with me. I was about to tell them to hurry up when three other guys approached us.

Thanks guys for reading. As I promised here is a long chapter. Keep voting. Love y'all.
