Chat Blanc had been absent from all recent Akuma attacks. This was risky of course, Felix knew while Adrien was kept in the dark. It was a plan that made it all or nothing.
The hope is for Blanc to join the trio but of course, it would be too good to be true, so the real plan would be a little more complicated.
Letting Felix know in his state of weakness and self guilt how he was now fighting against his best friend and his own brother just to stand by his father's side would rip him apart. Or at the very least disable him for long enough. Keeping Adrien unaware allowed him to simply keep fighting against Chat Blanc and Hawkmoth with no reluctance.
After that it would be rather simple to corner Papa Agreste into revealing himself and a public unmasking would seal the deal. Then, the real mastermind would appear.
If course this wasn't the most friendly of plans. It involved using his close friends as pawns in a game. As much as he would like for there to be another way, there simply wasn't. He needed for evil to rear it's ugly head and the ways to get there could never be squeaky clean.
Yet, why did his heart ache so whenever he dodged a question from Chat Noir about his true identity. Part of him wanted to scream it to the oblivious blonde while the other half wanted to scream at himself for even having such a stupid thought.
"Scarven?" A soft voice snapped him out of his thought. "Scarven, are you feeling okay?"
I nod at the timid artist. "Yeah, sorry Nath, I didn't get enough sleep yesterday." I gave a tired smile to solidify my claim and remembered the sketch I did.
"Hey, what do you think? Its my take on what the human psyche looks like." I grinned at him and he looked over the drawing. Splotches of red, grey, black, blue and a whole other myriad of colours swirled like a clashing whirlpool. The contrasting colours somehow blended well and the red splatters gave the artpiece another dimension.
"This...is so detailed... Its incredible, the mixing of the shades look like swirling emotions. How do you do it?" The usually reserved boy muttered louder and louder as his eyes shone in wonder.
I snickered at his obvious passion for art. "What about your Marinette comic?" He flushed the colour of his hair, how cute.
"Shhhhh!!! Keep your voice down...!" He whispered harshly as he pulled his sketchbook shut. I laugh and back off, half surprised that the teacher hadn't noticed our exchange.
I spotted Felix glancing at me but the moment I caught his eye he turned back to the front. Next to him, Adrien also swiveled back to face me and I gave him a smile, a lazy peace sign by my head. He grinned back and turned back around.
Once Adrien turned around, I tapped Nathan's shoulder, telling him I wouldn't be attending that day's art club. He nodded but seemed a little upset. "C'mon, while I'm gone you can get to know Mark better, you guys are working on a comic aren't you?" I gave a few reassuring pats on his back before facing the class, trying not to grin at the darker blush on the boy's face and soon getting lost in thoughts without a word going into my head.
By the next akuma, I have to take action. I had to make the preparation now. That meant training, breaking my body if I must. I had to be strong enough. Then I would have to find a way to get to Hawkmoth. Lure him out and snag his broch. Of course Adrien and Felix were the obvious answer but they would be my last resort.
Well at least try to once I finish this acting gig.
I turn back to look past the camera's and blinding set lights. "I won't leave, not anymore." I said the line before turning back to the other lead role played by a ditsy female actor by the name of Luna.
This would take forever.
