Last time on hunted wolves…

*loud crash*

Scotty with a hand over Cass's mouth, “Shhh there's more than one out there.”

“Those are way too loud to be mountain lions.”

~~~~~~~~
Cass was running through the woods bloodied and alone, Scotty was nowhere to be found.
“PPPHHHRRRRRAAAAAROOOOOOW!!!!”
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.” Cass panted under her breath with panic, she saw a hollowed out log and without a second thought dove into it. She counted as the seconds passed waiting for even the slightest sound.
                       -silence-
                       -15 seconds-
                       -30 seconds-
                       -40 seco...    *THUD*
A pale gray foot stops at the mouth of the log right in the view of the hiding Cass, as she watches the black razor like talons dig into the earth. The creature pauses and it's raptor like breathing can be heard from what sounds like everywhere. She slowly reached her hand up to cover her mouth hoping it would muffle her breathing.
“~howl for me little wolf~”
“~ little wolf…”
“~little  wolf…”
“~ little wolf…”
The pauses between each call left her heart racing, it was only mere seconds but it felt like hours. A swarm of spiders started to crawl all over Cass, apparently the hollow log was a spiders nest. Now thoroughly disturbed Cass's urge to scream was strong, but the only thing that came out of the poor girl was a silent stream of tears.
“~ little  wolf…”
“~ little wolf…”
“~howl for me little wolf~”
“~ little wolf…”
“~ little  wolf…”
“~ little wolf…”
The calling seemed to come from all directions, there was no way to tell if the creature was gone. Cass looked up after what felt like an eternity in fear. Half her vision was obscured by all the spiders to see the foot is gone, she crawled out as fast and quietly as she could. Cass screaming with her mouth closed begun  to flail and jump up and down to get all the spiders off her, getting a good look at them.
“They are not venomous, they're not venomous, they're not the venomous kind, forest service said this species is not venomous Cass... breathe... breathe...” She repeats to herself, she begins to slowly remove all the spiders as she begins to regain her composure, her quite sobs turning into a slight calmness.
“Okay you need to get to the truck Cass, you can remove the stray spiders on the way.” She told herself, suddenly her face fell, “Away from that thing… that thing that mimicked him perfectly… it sounded just like Scotty…”
“Scotty.... oh Scotty....” She sobbed, tears running down her face. That sadness soon turned to rage. “Those things were watching us last night! Those FUCKING THINGS…” Her anger quickly died out as she thought more of her lost companion, who knew after all that time online this trip would bring them closer together and tear them apart.
“Quiet Cass, come on just get to the truck, everything will be better if you get to the truck. She told herself before finally setting on her way. The walk was a quiet one, no animals or bugs made a sound, something Cass didn't notice until she was halfway there. This fact made slow and quiet her gait. She was still being hunted and the early morning light of the sun was being crippled by the pale gray overcast, which was not helping with spotting potential death. A twig snapped echoed throughout the silent wood. Cass froze and listened, saying perfectly still.
