The halls of Liberty High were quiet, the air was thick with mechanical calmness. The aura of the school was tainted with sadness. The underbelly holding a hint of unknown tragedy.

Liberty High presented itself as a paradise, but it's halls held poison. Snakes slithered through the cracks of the tile, infecting students and faculty alike.

Hannah Baker knew that better then anyone.

The school had infected her from the inside, poisoning her. Everyone pretend to be to fucking angels when anyone was around.

However, when people stopped looking, the smiles turned twisted. Slithering mouths opening, spewing toxin.

Justin Foley was the beginning of the end, Mr Porter was the end. And in between was the car crash of her sophomore year.

Something everyone would hear soon enough.

Hannah stopped in the hallway, looking around.

'For the last time' Hannah thought emotionless, her mind was set. Nothing would change it now.

"I think I've made myself very clear" Hannah spoke softly out loud, fingering the hole in her bag.

"But nobody is coming to stop me" Hannah cracked out, she rapidly blinked back tears.

Hannah so desperately wanted someone to stop her, take her in there arms and whisper it would all be okay.

Hannah wasn't talking about any old someone, she was more specific.

The only person who made her feel anything but pain.

Clay Jensen.

Clay Jensen was something else, the boy would deny till his last breath but the boy was indeed special.

Clay was kind and decent, he was nothing like the rest of the population. Clay was awkward, nerdy and sweet. Most importantly he cared with his entire being.

Clay was the lighthouse that shined bright in her grey and dark world.

But eventually, all lights flicker and die out.

Clay Jensen hated her. Hannah didn't blame him, she had drove him away when she didn't have to, she hurt him.

So when Clay started acting cold and distant to her, Hannah could only watch as the lighthouse crumbled away.

Along with it, the last gasp of life escaped her.

Hannah was just an empty shell that only felt pain, all that was required of her was to put an end to all the pain.

It was mere seconds that passed in the real world but for Hannah her inner struggle lasted forever.

"Some of you cared, none of you car-" Hannah was interrupted mid dialogue when a door down the hall flew open, cracking against the wall harshly.

Hannah stumbled back, the sudden action scaring her.

Clay Jensen stormed from the classroom, breathing heavily. He roared, turning punching the locker with tremendous force.
