They stood in a line, like lambs to a slaughter, waiting for their names to be called....Well that might be an exaggeration. They weren't there because they were forced to be, at least not most of them. And really, the only person who was going to be slaughtered was probably going to be him, either by Dumbledore or his father or both...that would be odd to say the least. Hadrian sighed as some girl named Hannah was sorted into Hufflepuff. He was already dreading the oncoming year, he may have been excited at first but this was a bit ridiculous. He couldn't believe they were forced to wear these constricting robes and outrageous hats! And why were they just standing here, couldn't they have a table with food or something? He was starving he had not eaten anything for the last day and this was not helping him stay happy. Sadly no one was here to warn everyone that a tired and annoyed Hadrian was a very, very bad idea.
Hadrian clenched his teeth as the alphabet got to the letter G. This was taking too long. His stay with the Malfoy's decimated his patience. If this didn't end soon he would leave, leave and never comeback. Who cares about the wizarding world destroying and revealing itself to muggles.
"Granger, Hermione"
Hadrian's eyes flashed to the stool and at the soaking mudblood. Huh, it seemed Daphne was right after all. His eyes followed the soaked girl's angry glare and he had to keep himself from cackling when he saw a very unhappy, soaking, red haired Weasley. His eyes slowly trailed back to the stool, catching the twinkling gaze that was aimed at him with only the barest horrified shudder.
"GRYFFINDOR!" Hadrian raised an eyebrow in surprise. How odd, he would have thought she would be in Hufflepuff or maybe Ravenclaw. Suddenly, as if feeling his thoughts were about her, her eyes turned to look at him with wariness. Hadrian rolled his eyes and ignored the questioning look he was getting from Draco. Honestly, human children were very odd.
"Greengrass, Daphne"
Hadrian flicked his eyes towards Daphne, watching as she silently gulped, he raised an eyebrow. Why was she nervous, there wasn't a chance she wasn't a witch nor that she wasn't a Slytherin.
"SLYTHERIN!" The hat yelled out and Daphne went to sit at the politely clapping table filled with masked faces. Hadrian let out an amused huff, of course she was a Slytherin, didn't he say so a second ago? Yes, yes he did.
He dutifully clapped for the rest of the students with dead eyes. When was this going to end, he thought with a sight, which earned him a nudge from Draco.
"Be quiet!" Draco hissed," It's almost my turn."
Hadrian glanced at Draco with half lidded eyes. "Shut up, Draco." Draco looked appalled that Hadrian would dare say such a thing and was opening his mouth, probably to retort, when his name was called.
"Malfoy, Draco"
Draco turned from Hadrian, stuck his nose in the air and strut to the old stool. He sat there for a few solid minutes and Hadrian began to question his initial assessment of Draco being a one dimensional spoiled idiot, especially when Draco's already pale skin turned an even more startling white. Hadrian noticed that all the Slytherin's began sharing looks and Daphne began to shift in her seat, he assumed this was not something that was expected from a Malfoy.
