After Gi Gi and D.O appeared on Idol My Isle, they started hanging out together. A fan had caught the two at a cafe and they were wearing matching outfits and drinking out of the same cup (with two straws). Fans then tried to confirm that they were dating. SM and Big Hit had let out a statement saying that they were not dating but were just best friends. They are best friends just like her and Jimin are.

Everyone knows that Jimin treats Gi Gi like his younger sister. Sometimes during performances the two would come off too strong when singing both their parts at the same time and not notice how close they were until the members said something. Jimin and Gi Gi are seen almost everyday together and ARMY can't get enough of them.

After Idol My Isle, these two also became really close. They're close just like Tae and Gi Gi are, see constantly but don't hang out all the time. Vernon was asked who his celebrity crush was and Vernon said it was Gi Gi. Fans weren't surprised because during Idol My Isle, Vernon would always want to be next to Gi Gi and talk to her. Fans also noticed that he would show signs of nervousness whenever she was around and would blush really hard when they talked.
