November 25, 2017I combed my hair back a bit while I stared into the mirror, smoothing the gel through my strands. I sighed and kept staring at myself, my eyes hazy black and my scar across my nose. I looked down at the sink and looked to the top near the faucet and seen my razor. I bit my lip, I turned on the water and hesitantly picked it up and sprayed my shaving cream in my hand and spread it across my face. I brought the razor up and slowly grazed it across my face, watching it pick all the small hairs off my face to a clean shave. I tapped the side of it against the sink and placed it under the water to get rid of the hairs. I picked it back up and dragged a stripe next to it the razor hitting the cream and cutting more hairs off. Tap, splash the heat against my cheek. Repeatedly until the cream was gone and my face was clean and my expressions showed more in the mirror.
My eyes narrowed as my heart sped up and I looked away and placed the razor back down. I looked down at my hand and sighed softly and then turned off the running water and wiped my face with a towel. I splashed some cologne on my hand and patted my cheeks. I instantly winced at the burning sensation.
"Ow-" I mumbled out and groaned. I spread the rest on my neck and arms. I button the last two buttons on my shirt and tied my tie around my neck, folding the flaps down and adjusting the length. I bit my lip and opened the bathroom door and closed it softly behind me and turned off the light.
I looked through the door to my bedroom and stared through the crack and seen Keith facing the window, the blanket wrapped around him like it was me- or someone else.
I shook my head and slipped on my pants and business jacket then wrapped my satchel around my head, making sure all my important papers were in there. I nodded and slipped on my shoes by the door and slipped on my jacket. I quickly grabbed my keys to the side and wallet, looking back up the stairs at the silence and sighed, swinging the door open and softly closed it behind me.11:45 Am
November 25, 2017"Shiro, did you finish those papers yet?" A friend of mine asked, peeping over the cubicle wall. "Yeah, what's up?" I asked him and he shook his head. "There's someone in the main office waiting for you." He said and pointed towards it with his thumb and I nod, standing up and walking to it.
I stared down at my feet, which I catch myself doing a lot and the second I look up I heard a familiar voice and white flowy hair. "Ahh, Shiro. Great to see you." Lotor spoke out and adjusting his glasses. He wore a purple plaid button up over a white shirt, blue jeans and a hazel brown scarf. He held what looked like to be a very warm purple fleece.
"Hey Lotor. What are you doing here?" I asked and he softly chuckled. "Didn't we make lunch plans the other day?" He asked and raised his eyebrow and raised the corner of his lip. That's right, we did yesterday. "Yeah, sorry. I'm tired today so I'm not even thinking today. I'll get my jacket and bag." I said and he nodded as I quickly walked away.
Of course I would forget something like this, it's so typical. I walk back to my cubicle and put on my jacket and picked up my satchel, letting it dangle from my shoulder. I plucked something off my chest and before I could notice where I was walking I looked up and crashed into a co-worker, papers flying over. "Dang it, sorry Mr.Shirogane." A small soft voice spoke, picking up the papers. I stopped and started to help him, I looked back up and noticed the face. "Nah, it's alright Matt. I didn't mean to bump into you there." I said and handed him his papers as I stood up.
"It isn't your fault. Just in a rush because I'm so behind." Matt said and shrugged, standing up and taking the papers I held and held his pile. "Take care Matt. Good luck." I motivated and smirked and he nodded. Before I walked off I notice a small red spot cornered off by his button-down. Small teeth marks were placed around the red and purple mark and my eyes furrowed. He hurried off and I stared at the ground, confused. Ever since I knew Matt, he's bragged about every boy and girl he's been with. Weird enough he hasn't started to talk about them, which maybe- no.
I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head as I walked back to the main office to Lotor and he smiled at me. I kept walking as he followed by my side and carried along with me I smirked. "What took so long? Got lost in a labyrinth?" He chuckled out and I shook my head. "Just bumped into one of my co-workers and helped him pick up the mess." I replied, scratching the back of my neck.
"Typical office cliché." Lotor said, rolling his eyes to it and bit his lip with a small sharp tooth. Well I didn't understand what he meant, probably something he read in a book or magazine but I didn't have any attentions to worry about it. He followed me out as we quickly walked down the crowded sidewalk down to a small cafe on the corner, where everyone knew me. This was Lotor's first time here and I just had to bring him here, even if he never wasn't going to like it. We got inside and we were greeted with a happy face.
"Hey Shiro, it's great to see you again." Allura cheered in my face and smiled, waving at me. She looked over at Lotor and then her eyes suddenly filled with regret. "L-Lotor..." she muttered scarcely and gulped and bit her lip. "You two know each other?" I asked and looked at them confusingly and Lotor scoffed. "Tch- Know each other? We dated a long time ago, when we were in high school. She left before she graduated and I guess she moved here." Lotor replied, keeping Allura in the corner of his eye.
"I moved because your father threatened my family!" Allura hollered, people turning their heads. Her face was red and her chin was gripped against her jaw. "He's dead now. He passed away last year. What a better way to forget the old hag." He said and shook his head. I decided to step in the middle and coughed, making them look at me. "Just forget the past, okay? We just came here to have lunch. It will be fine, okay Allura?" I asked and smiled warmly at Allura and she nodded her head, looking away and tied her robe again. "Understood." She softly spoke and stormed away, the tips of her ears red and I could feel the heat leave.
"Ugh- I guess I have to explain everything that happened, huh?" Lotor asked as we walked up small steps to my favorite seat that me and Keith always sat by the window. "If it deals with one of my best friends, of course Lotor-" I said and softly chuckled.12:55 Pm
"My father told me what was between him and her father and that he had to get rid of them. By that time she was already gone and I never heard of her again." Lotor said and picked up his tea cup, letting it hang on his lips before he took a sip. I nodded and wiped my lips with a napkin after finishing my sandwich and took a sip of my coffee. "Well, that's uh- very interesting? I don't know what to say honestly." I said and scrunched my lips together.
"There are never more suitable words for such a disturbing error." He said and leaned back in his chair slightly, probably tired of sitting up the whole time. I looked down at my watch and softly grunted. "I have to go." I said and took out my wallet and then placed money onto the table until my hand was stopped by Lotor's, his hand holding mine and I softly blushed. "Don't you worry. I'll pay it." A smile stretched on his face as he pleaded to pay for it.
"Are you sure?" I asked and he quickly nodded his head. "Yes of course, you have somewhere to be. Eh, and one more thing." He said and smirked. "Want to come over for dinner tonight? I'd be more than happy to cook." He said and grinned, making me blush softly. "Is it okay if I give you a call about it? I kind of want to see if Keith wants to do something tonight." I said, honestly wanting to go but unsure of it so far.
"Oh no, do so. I won't mind. Just don't bother calling after seven because I wouldn't have time to cook." Lotor said and I smiled nodding. "Alright. I'll see you later." I excused myself and got up from my chair and picked up my satchel, placing my money back in my wallet. I looked over and at Lotor once more, he sipped his tea again and stared off, looking almost lost. I put my coat on and waved goodbye before I was about to walk out. "Shiro?" Allura called behind me and I turned around.
"Yes Allura?" I answered and looked at her. "I- uh... I've seen Keith come in with this boy once in a while. He always sits there, where you two sit. I don't know if you wanted to know or if it would make it worse but-" she said and I stopped her and then I shushed her. "Thanks Allura. I'll talk about it with him later. And don't hurt Lotor. He came here to escape so treat him like a friend. I'll see you tomorrow, see ya." I hushed and she nodded, thanking me for coming as I walked towards the office building.
The breeze was crisp like the autumns leaves and the noise of the busy streets never seemed to die down. The fall was always my favorite time of season besides Christmas time. Isn't that close, just like thanksgiving. Oh sheesh, it will come and go like every other holiday. Like every other year.
