Chapter Thirteen
Aphrodite's POV
Hearing the whispers around me I felt my insides clench as my fingers curled around my body tighter, the displeased looks from the tall, pale and beautiful angels around me urged my head to pound. Sucking my breath in I bit the corner of my lip as I noticed the eyes of one individual.
Beautiful. He looked so beautiful. He walked forward in pure silence as his eyes remained trained on me, he stood taller as he got closer and closer to me, the angels around me had whispered even louder as he had passed them and slowly had got more and closer to me.
"He's crazy. Does he know what that child is capable of?" One of the women whispered to her friend, both sending disgusted looks to me. Taking a step back I watched as the circle around me gotten bigger and the fear became more evident.
Looking through the strands of hair, the angels around me were so beautiful. Tall, with pale and untouched skin, and blonde hair. I had stuck out like a sore thumb and something that was unusual, I looked like an animal, a creature.
The angels had simply talked and conversed among themselves at me, allowing their words of hatred, confusion and pure fear slip into my ears. However, as they had gotten further and further away from me the one man had gotten closer.
His eyes not drifting nor staggering his posture firm and posed as his wings behind him fluttered with such grace, he appeared to be a well-known angel as the others around him had remained their distance from him. Though he had kept walking straight to me.
He wasn't scared of me.
He didn't turn to talk to the other angels or express his anger towards me, he simply had walked towards me with his head held high and his eyes clear of any form of dislike. Instead, it looked like he was interested and purely amused at the words around me.
Finally, he stopped a few meters away, his eyes locked with mine, the deep blue had appeared something unlike I have ever seen before. It was utterly beautiful and looked to hold so many emotions, however, there appeared to be nothing.
"Get away," I mumbled as I stepped back, watching in response as he stepped forward, was he going to attack me, hurt me, what was going to happen to me? He parted his lips for a moment as he stared at me.
"My name is William." His voice was deep, however, it was rough or scartchy, it had been smooth and refreshing, so light and dream-like that it made me unaware of the stares around me. He reached up brushing a hand through his hair, the blonde simply reflecting off the unnatural light around us.
Grinding my teeth together, "and she's the Devil!" One of the angels cried out loud, flinching as the simple voice had caused the others to erupt around me, from the tense slience to the sound of the name 'devil' had floated around me.
He glanced around but returned his eyes to me, he was going to hurt me, all of them wanted to hurt me. They only wanted to have angels here, nothing that wasn't like them, beautiful, tall, lean and blonde. Gulping, I stepped back feeling as the wings on my back flutter.
For what seemed like moments I felt the hand on my wings, looking back in horror I watched as an angel had narrowed his eyes at me as quickly reached forward, his intentions clear on hurting me, his eyes swimming with the emotion of hated as he looked down at me.
The whimper slipped my lips as I felt his hands around my throat and the feeling of being weightless had become something I was familiar with, he chuckled deeply as his dark eyes pierced me. "You are not welcomed here." He breathed out.
