Alsuha stared at Eyre as she tried to come up with a way to ask him how to get to the King's Companion's quarters. She had mostly stuck to only patrolling the Prince's Tower and had only expanded her patrol to places he frequented. He seldom, if ever, willingly, visited his father's end of the castle. Not unless he was summoned.
She glanced at Eyre once more as he pulled out his usual array of bottles and jars from his giant reticule. He had breezed into her room this morning, back to his cheerful and outrageous self. Whatever had been wrong with him two days ago when he had brought Alsuha's brother to the palace seemed to have settled itself, Alsuha was tempted to chalk it up to the unpleAs'ant experience of having to deal with unsavory slave drivers, but something told her there had been more to his mood.
Eyre had informed her that he had a few new ideas for a 'Look' for her and had set about rearranging her face alternately crowing with achievement, when he liked the result, moaning in ecstasy when he loved it, or twisting his pretty face into a still very much attractive grimace. He had named each "Look" according to his whim it seemed and Alsuha couldn't help but be entertained by him. She stared at him some more as he turned to retrieve she knew not what from his bottomless satchel.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Eyre asked as his eyes snapped towards Alsuha. "Have you finally fallen for my charms?"
"As if you had any," Alsuha snorted.
"You wound me!" Eyre clutched at his chest dramatically. Alsuha rolled her eyes.
"So what is it you want to ask?" Eyre asked suddenly serious.
"I was wondering how I could find Fira."
"The King's Companion?" Alsuha nodded.
"Why would you want to find her? I thought you weren't exactly fond of her."
"I... I am not exactly sure how I feel towards her, but I do not think I have ever hated her." Eyre looked at her skeptically. Alsuha tried to ignore him.
"I wanted to ask her a few things."
"I'm sure Erif wouldn't mind answering your questions."
"Erif cannot answer the questions that I have. At least not completely." Eyre eyed her and Alsuha resisted the urge to shift uncomfortably in her seat.
"I don't suppose you'll tell me what these questions are, if I asked."
"No, I do not suppose that I would," Alsuha responded, as she looked Eyre in the eye. After a heartbeat, Eyre sighed dramatically.
"Very well. Just don't go around throwing any gauntlets." He finished applying her makeup, Alsuha checked to make sure it wasn't something outrage and decided she could live with it when she saw how simple the arrangement was; Erye called it "The Everyday Look"- Alsuha hoped he didn't mean for her to endure having her face done up like that every day. She listened attentively as Eyre told her how she could find the King's Companion.
Once she had assured herself that LuSol was well watched over she made it a point to take Haku's latest toys away in order to make sure he would not be distracted from protecting LuSol. She had promised to return them once she had returned to watch over the Prince, but Haku had not been satisfied. He had whined that the Prince would be with her brother and As'a anyway since LuSol had gotten it into his head that they needed to spend some time together to get to know one another, which was why Alsuha was bent on finding the King's Companion since LuSol had all but forbidden her from entering his study or any other place he happened to be occupying at the moment. Alsuha did not care and refused to return Haku's things.
